Query re Tax

Sue, I see you live in Kent, NOT in Greece. Well, can I ask you some questions - I know pretty much the cost of things in UK, I lived there for over 60 years and still visit once a year: I also know the cost of things in Greece, I've lived here for 6 years. My query was a genuine concern: you don't ...

Query re Tax

Well, the Accountant is still saying we owe over €1,000 euros for 2012. I just cannot see it, as it's just the British State Pension: maybe we should have stayed in UK, Greece is getting just too expensive to live in! Thanks for info, you are all obviously better at figures than I am (cannot add 2+2...

OTE TV

:?: Has anyone recently changed to OTE TV and what do you think of it? Now that Nova doesn't have Premier League football on (one of the things we DO miss - and fish and chips of course -) we're thinking of changing. Is the commentary on the matches in English is one thing we want to know. Greek fri...

:? I have sent one message - but received no answer. However, I will, if it's ok with you copy and paste a small part of your posting (no name. no pack drill of course!) to him tomorrow.

Query re Tax

Thanks for the replies and information. I think maybe it is time to change our Accountant, though unfortunately we will have to pay this large sum of money first. We don't live on Crete - we're in the Dodecanese Islands, but not as obvious as it seems!! - if anyone knows of a good, reliable English ...

Query re Tax

We've now got our tax bill down to around €1,000 but it still seems a lot to me?? Our house is about 90 sq meters, and our car is 5 1/2 years old. No swimming pool or boat - and we spend a fair amount as we have managed to collect many animals, their food bill well eclipses our own! So, we just have...

Query re Tax

I don't want to put too much information on the posting, but can anyone give me an approximate idea of the amount of tax we would pay as follows: my British Pension is around £9,600 per year and my husband's is approx. £1,300, per annum (maybe a little higher) adding up to about £10,500/£11,000 per ...

Amazon Alternative

The Book Depository are excellent - sometimes their books are cheaper than Amazon's and there is no charge for postage. Play.com are pretty good too, though I've not used them for a while. Anything is cheaper than purchasing paperback books in Greece!

Is It Just Us...

Hullo Mr. Travis - I rarely post these days but feel I must add to the answers re your posting - I think many people who live in Greece feel the need to point out that living in the country permanently is very very different to being on holiday here: we've lived in Greece for 6 years but agree it is...

Renewing Passport

At least I managed to pick the correct Form!! I thought of putting my address as the receiving office of the Courier's to which it will be returned. The girl who works there is an American Greek, so she will understand what I'm doing without any "lost in translation" problems. Might be qui...

RENEWING PASSPORT

:? My Passport is due for renewal. I live in Greece permanently and know it has to go to Spain. I've looked at the website and I cannot fully understand what form I have to load to fill-in and send with my old Passport. Is it the C1 Form? The more you look at the information, the more confusing it a...

Bringing Cats Too

Just for the record, our cats flew by BA from Heathrow to Athens - we had to collect them at Athens Airport (from the cargo area, quite a way from the Airport) and we did have to fill in forms - and I think we had to pay a small amount too. Can't remember how much but maybe it was around 20 euros. B...
