Re: The Will of the People

Let’s be clear, both of the candidates are not up to scratch and I know it’s let’s bash Boris month, but this is not about who will make a good Prime minister but who will actually make Brexit happen and that is the only reason Boris is leading. After that none of them will last long.

Re: The Will of the People

I don’t mind Hunt and yes he is someone who the EU would welcome more, but there lies the problem, is he another May/Cameron? Let Boris put his money where his mouth is, definitely need a different approach.

Re: The Will of the People

Although overall the result of the referendum was 52 to 48 percent which was close, I have been looking at all the local results which shows the actual strength of the vote to leave. A sobering fact.

Re: The Will of the People

I am sure that the RTE article must be completely wrong? It suggests that posts such as the President of the Commission, the President of the Council etc are selected by the heads of the 28 member states. Each of those heads is democratically elected by a majority of the entire voting population of...

Re: The Will of the People

I’m converted! I just didn’t realise that the EU were just full of good people with good intentions and can do no wrong. In fact they are so perfect it’s almost angelic. The Eurozone is stable and all the countries economies are growing at an unbelievable rate. Just wait until they close the trade ...

Re: The Will of the People

The EU made their first and only mistake in the negotiations by putting a red line on the withdrawal agreement being re opened for further negotiation. They thought that because it didn't get through parliament and with the remain parliament against a no deal that enough pressure would be applied fo...

Re: The Will of the People

I’d have a slightly different take on it. When we leave with No Deal, we will then go and negotiate individual items (like citizens rights etc). Problem is, these will be agreed with the EU under a different Article which will require unanimous approval of the remaining 27 states, whereas the EU se...

Re: The Will of the People

I’m not sure I quite agree with you guy m. The EU won’t negotiate on the withdrawal agreement so the new PM needs to negotiate to leave without the agreement but in a constructive manner, so I don’t agree that the only choices are the ones you have set out. Of course it’s only opinion. Either way it...

Re: The Will of the People

I don’t understand why the EU keep going on about the withdrawal agreement being impossible to re negotiate, it has been made clear, we all get it (apart from the few who feel they can). It is dead, it can’t get through Parliament so the new cabinet need to ditch it to carry on negotiations which I ...

Re: The Will of the People

I see Hunt is gathering followers in the PM race! He is claiming that if an election is called, and Labour win, Brexit will not happen. All both parties are concerned about is ‘saving their skins’ in the political arena. It seems nobody is concerned about the U.K. and its people. Surely we are all ...

Re: The Will of the People

Some of the latest posts on here seem to be straying away from the point. Kilkis has reminded us all, ad nauseam (well, not quite literally, Warwick) of the situations where the UK is able to exercise its opt-out options and other instances where we have been able to either veto proposals or legall...
