Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

where it cannot be proven that the defendant knew it to be true or not. What a sad reflection on the UK in 2019 where our childrens future is sold on defending such words to hide behind lies, basically saying you don't care and are willing to sacrifice your childrens ability to have a democratic vo...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

Sorry Scooby.....your words..... “They didn't called him a liar, they ruled on the basis that, although it could have been misleading he believed it to be true.” My words.... “There is nowhere in it that the judges claim they thought Johnson believed what he was saying to be true.” My four and a ha...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

You are wasting your time Keltz. I don’t think Scooby has even read the article. There is nowhere in it that the judges claim they thought Johnson believed what he was saying to be true. I am not sure where Scooby got that idea from. Maud, in law they call what happened in the campaign “false state...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

It doesn’t mean he lied, that was the ruling. Nonsense man, he was called a liar and a misogynist in parliament under parliamentary rules in front of all parties where no one called out for those words to be withdrawn because the evidence is there for all to see. It is not the job of anyone on this...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

I think and believe the honouring of a democratic referendum must be the prime factor, the fact people live in Crete is not relevant to the respect for a democratic decision. Of course, this site exists based upon the interest people have with Crete - resident or holidaymaker. I am for an exit - no...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

As I said in my post Scooby, some research is open to abuse and there will always be people who don’t believe it. I was just passing the information on for the members here who, like myself, might feel there is some accuracy in it. As for Johnson not being entirely truthful.....the High Court Judge...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

The comment was made.....but I apologise that I didn’t hear who it was by....that research has been done and 50% of the people who voted for Brexit would be happy with a ‘no deal.’ The other 50% either want a deal, or in some cases would rather remain in the EU. Of course people on here will quite ...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

Johnson was saying yesterday that the referendum was ‘overwhelmingly’ in favour of leaving the EU. - As usual I have a problem with the language he uses. Just over a million more people voted for it, rather than against it. How that can be called ‘overwhelming’ out of almost 34 million voters? mayb...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

You are absolutely correct Scooby, the Remain campaign did warn voters about job losses etc. Sadly, it is a fact of life that many people believe what the want to believe....in this case that they could ‘cherry pick’ as promised by Johnson et al. The Brexiteers told people what they wanted to hear....

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

Your living in a different world Voni. I would say that a hell of a lot who voted leave don’t even think about European arrest warrants etc... Why would you think that would be of any importance.

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

One thing that has clearly changed is the Brexit which was promised......one where very little would change. Many people voted for Brexit believing there would not be any job losses, businesses would be able to carry on importing and exporting with the EU and the rest of the world without any extra...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

When Article 50 was triggered by MP’s they were not triggering a ‘no deal Brexit.’ I don’t believe for a moment that many of them thought we would be leaving the EU without a deal. I also believe at the time MP’s were doing what they felt they should do, in order to honour the result of the referen...
