Re: The Will of the People

Not sure the EU does want Corbyn. As a Benn acolyte he has always been anti EU and he doesn’t want EU rules on state aid interfering with his dream of a socialist paradise with lots of renationalisation. Also, the centre Right is stronger in the European Parliament than the Left. The thing about fr...

Re: The Will of the People

We all know that the blocking of free movement of people is a complete red herring and I know it wouldn't be easy but if it was introduced back in it would solve the problem. It's up to the government to explain in simple terms that people from the EU are not coming over and taking their jobs nor ar...

Re: The Will of the People

In case anyone missed it, May's deal was rejected by a majority of 230, with 118 of her own MPs voting against it. If you take out people on the government payroll, ministers, junior ministers, PPSs etc, hardly any Conservative back bench MPs voted for it. Corbyn has tabled a formal vote of no conf...

Re: Parking ticket Rethymno

Hi! I just got a parking ticket in Rethymno, I couldn’t see anything marking the spot as no parking, I’ve taken photos, can I appeal it at all? The amount is €40 I’m quite upset  where do I pay if not? Best advice? Pay it within 10 days and you should only pay half and don't do it again :win...

Re: The Will of the People

Pasted from Wiki: the Eurogroup does not publish minutes neither agenda documents from its meetings and its proceedings are vastly informal [23] Conflict of interest of the chair of the Eurogroup[24] who both represents his or her own governments and the Eurogroup as a whole; Domination by a restric...

Re: The Will of the People

I do like how Europhiles stick up for the EU and portray it as fair, united in harmony, one big happy family it's almost like a Disney land. If people think the EU is not in the least vindictive and ruthless, ask the people of the very country you are living in their feelings.

Re: The Will of the People

My guess for this week is: Parliament will reject the Withdrawal Agreement TMay, wanting to stay as pm, will ask for an extension to Article 50 The EU, not being vindictive or self-harming, will grant the extension The shouting will have a green light to continue on into the summer. The EU not bein...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

Because, contrary to what is often portrayed, the EU is a collection of 28 independent sovereign states. There is only uniformity where the EU, and that means the 28 sovereign states through their elected leaders and their elected MPs, has decided it would be of benefit to the EU to have uniformity...

I don't see why there is the need for two IDP's for countries that are in the EU?

Re: Greek Driving Licence

From the wording on the RAC website it says you can apply through them before the 31st January only so maybe you don't have to make a trip to the UK just yet?

Re: The Will of the People

Of course it's possible that there is already another deal that's been agreed with the EU, which won't be presented to the Commons until after Mrs May is defeated on Tuesday. It could then be presented as a wonderful compromise and enough MP's might sign up to it to get it through. It would explain...

Re: The Will of the People

Warwick, my opinion is that the EU stance is totally unfair, not only unfair but unreasonable, they have put 3 options on the table for the UK to be able to extend article 50 and they all play into their hands. I understand they would want a "reason" for agreeing to extend it, but leaving ...
