Re: Water Shortage

What's the legal position re people filling and keeping their wretched swimming pools topped up with mains water supply? Ask all the hotels because they will all be doing it, got to top up pools no matter what. Yes, hotels will operate to their own particular *understanding* of (everything - sewage...

Re: Water Shortage

I suppose the dam could be fixed for a start if not already. Little old ladies could stop washing down the whole street every day and the water companies could do more to fix their leaks and invest more.

Re: Storm Clouds.

One thing I can't get my head round is that we know the EU has the four rules and to have one you must take all? So how come Canada and Japan can negotiate free trade deals without free movement etc, and they are WTO? Confusing....Warwick??

Re: Storm Clouds.

bigbluecheese, I do not wish to diminish the danger you and your colleagues were exposed to in Ulster. But, when I talk of wars I think you and most others on here have a good idea what I am talking about. The two World wars, it has been estimated, were the cause of at least 200,000,000 deaths and ...

Re: Storm Clouds.

I can't see the point in arguing what opinion is right or wrong, I think there are arguments to make on both sides. There was a democratic vote, in or out, it really is that simple. Doesn't matter if it was only a swing of 4% or even 1% it's done and everyone has to deal with it. My only fear is tha...

I am sure there are people on the forum who could not vote but support Brexit. I do not want to insult anyone but I sometimes get very cross about the awful uncertainty of knowing what the future holds. I have a few relatives in the UK who voted Brexit and still want to leave and relatives who vote...

Re: Car hire in UK

I have never come across a rental company in the UK with only 3rd party insurance. They all have Collision Damage Waiver but with an ever increasing excess, e.g. £1,500 now for a pretty cheap car. It is true that they try to sell you their own policy to reduce the excess but they are astronomically...

Re: Car hire in UK

After a bad experience with a certain car hire company in the UK and usually all the hassle of waiting around, producing documents etc.. I have finally got round to completing my application to join the easycarclub (there are others also) peer to peer rent a car, pretty straight forward to join (sca...

I don't see the problem, the prime minister has said they will have EVERY contingency in place if we drift into WTO so nothing can go wrong, surely she is a woman of her word
