Re: Embassy Outreach Meeting - Vrysses

Thanks for going, and taking the time to write a report.

As always, it's thorough and informative! (If only the various governments could be the same... :) )

Hi Ilona,

It would probably help to know which area you are looking for work in Crete - it's a big island! :D

Re: Why Brexit is Right

Is it possible that your friend can apply because she is married to a Greek citizen, Carol? That wouldn't apply to most ex-pats living here. Warwick For us, the real hurdle would be the language test, if it's a difficult one - a friend of ours tells us that her friend failed the language test once ...

Thanks Carol - if you have any idea of the level of Greek language and history proficiency required it wo...

Can anybody recommend a policy or a broker?

Try Elias Papaevgeniadis - a broker for a few companies including Eurolife, a Cypriot company now expanding into Greece which was giving good deals when we took out our policies. He speaks excellent English and his number is 6973471638.

Cyprus publishes residence rights for British nationals after Brexit

The government of Cyprus has published a paper on how it intends to deal with British nationals after Brexit.

It follows the draft withdrawal guidelines issued by the EU - We can only hope that the Greek government follows in the same vein.

You can see the full (pdf) document here

P.S. Scooby, are you still here? I thought you were going back to the UK? ) Oh I'm still here and yes will be going to the UK soon, and when we (and I a mean "we" as in the UK) leave the EU does that mean I need a visa to post on here? Dunno - your guess is as good as mine - ...

Re: Flights

Seems to you it's obviously not a once in a lifetime vote, we could do best of three. OK - So I meant "once in a lifetime event ", thankfully it's not a criminal offence (unlike electoral fraud  ). I think that this video of Lord Lisvane sums up my feelings about the whole affair ni...

Re: Flights

But after a general election, and you don't like the party who has got in do you then say I want another vote. Yes, you get another chance to vote for your party in a general election a few years later - did I not make that clear above? This is why it's even more important to have another vote for ...

Re: Flights

Warwick,

If you've got a bit of time on your hands, could you just pop into number 10, kick out the current incumbent and take over until, ... oh, say March 2019?

I'd be much obliged.

(Actually, I'm sure you could do what needs to be done in just a few minutes :) )

Re: Temporary Brexit Forum

It may be interesting theatre to some, but it misses the point that as British citizens living in an EU country, our continued ability to live in any EU country may well be impacted. May may have issued her unilateral "commitment" to EU citizens to remain in the UK, but there has been no s...
