Re: Taking care of Molly

Excellent News She is very much like my cat who sadly we had to send to the happy heavens. He broke a rear leg and we opted to have it pinned and braced, had to keep him indoors and in a large dog cage, after 3 months and a £1500 vet bill the vet felt confident the leg had healed and it was ok to le...

Re: Taking care of Molly

Oh she’s gorgeous !
Have you considered a pet sitter
Allow someone to stay in your house and keep Molly where she is happiest. I’d gladly volunteer even at that time of year but sadly my health is poorly.
I wish you and Molly good luck and I’ll keep an eye on this thread

Thoroughly recommend them, now looks after my daughter on her trips, even arranged insurance cover despite her only being 23 yrs.
We always paid cash on arriving Heraklion, gave loyalty discounts for regular visitors.
Good luck, wish it was me going.

Re: Change Of Heart?

Brian, just in case this wasn't clear to you...this forum is about living in Crete, not Brexit. You already started one thread on Brexit, do we really need a second one? I’ve been a silent member for some years now as I have Parkinson’s which makes it incredibly difficult to write, however I will s...

I can understand staying inside in a city or where the buildings nearby are multi floors, but surely with a single story or even 2 story you'd be safer outside ?

More useful than a UK prescription would probably be empty boxes of what you normally take so the pharmacist can find the right drug. Make sure it says what the active ingredient is, not just the particular brand name, because different brands might be available here. In Greece you take responsibil...

George, If your hiring a 4x4 (Jimny) then from Rodakino beach there is an off road track that starts behind the taverna at the west end of Rodakino beach. It runs close to the coast and gives access to a few remote beaches along the way and provides a more interesting route to Frangokastello. Incide...

Head via Mirthios up the Kotsifou gorge, turn left to Kali Sikia, then via Velonado to Arghyroupoli (Lappa). If you don't know the latter, it's a delightful, interesting place well worth a visit in its own right. Clio, if this is the route I am thinking of I remember 'driving' it in a Nissan Cherry...

Imbros gorge is quite a pleasant, undemanding walk without vertigo inducing heights. As is the Agia Irini gorge, for which Sougia is the perfect base. George, I would second Graeme's excellent suggestion, but with a couple of modifications. Agia Irini instead of Samaria, and a bit of a cross-countr...

...As I suffer from a form of vertigo... I've always wanted to do a gorge or two... I'm not sure vertigo and walking down gorges go together that well? Some of the paths are pretty steep with drops to the sides. Perhaps worth driving to the top of Samaria and stand looking down for a bit before you...
