Re: WD-40

WD 40 is an excellent cleaner, bugs of the car paintwork. Dirty muddy trainers. Will also waterproof them. Many more wonderful things that it will do. But do not forget it will help with the stubborn nut/bolt, screw and rusty locks.

Re: Registration Certificate and Arthritis.

Tim Not sure why you would say that, Mike. Are we talking about the same village? Kavousi is slap bang on the National Road, and enjoys a superb bus service with 4 buses a day running from Sitia to Ierapetra and 6* from Sitia to Agios Nikalaos and on to Heraklion. I felt it important to be closer t...

Re: Registration Certificate and Arthritis.

HI James Yes, Kavousi is a nice small village, I almost bought a nice plot of land there in order to build a house. But in the end did not move to the village for a number of reasons. Whilst it was on a Bus route the busses were not that regular. The only bus available was the one to and from Sitia....

Re: Registration Certificate and Arthritis.

Stavros21 I'm looking at houses in Kritsa, so Heraklion is not too far. Kritsa is a small hilly Town (hardly call it a village) about 12 kms from Agios Nikolaos. It is a very close knit friendly Town, foreigners are welcome providing that they want to join in the community and accept their way of l...

Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

Kimisiana stated Don't forget the Greeks that will be arriving back to the fatherland by the thousand from the four contaminated corners of the earth for the month of August to see family and friends and attend the festivals that are still on, and mingle amongst the local community. My reading and ...

Re: Passport renewal

When attempting to change my UK licence for a Greek one, there was chaos. This was due to the expectation that I had to take a written test and a driving test. No one knew when this would be as the test examiners were on strike. Each month I had to return to the Lasithi Driving licence office for a ...

Re: The latest info regarding our exchange to Biometric cards .

Please be aware that if you only have the 5 year permit (buff I think) you may be required to provide a number of documents to proceed to the next stage. One of those documents is a Tax return. If memory serves correctly when my wife took hers to the immigration office she had to show current and pr...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Warick quoted I can't imagine that happening. Boozy party types coming to Greece on holiday. Never heard of that occurring. Not heard of the town of Malie, 50k east of Heraklion?. Had a terrible reputation for young Brits partying, stabbings, punch-ups etc. Thankfully 2 years ago the Police stated ...

Send your car keys to a trusted friend.
I am in the process of taking 3 cars, not mine, to the test centre. All three sent me their car keys.

Re: Let's alter history

Tear down all the British Cotton Mills and of course Manchester. All thrived from the USA Cotton trade. And whist we are on that subject, what about the Slavery in the UK, in particular the Cotton Industry where workers would catch a disease caused by cotton in the air being sucked into their lungs....
