Re: The Will of the People

Maud wrote If there is a second vote and people still vote for Brexit, I will accept it and hope all works out well for the U.K. What if there is a 2nd vote and it is in favour of remaining. Score 1:1 so there them must be a tie breaker, a 3rd vote. Time that that useless lot in the British Parliam...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

I can understand their confusion in your case evansmr1 - it could be a bit of a catch 22 at the moment. In order to exchange your UK licence for a Greek licence you have to be eligible. Now you need a Certificate of extension to prove you are eligible for a Greek licence at age 74 or over. without ...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

[quote][Have you tried simply asking KEP if they can change your licence for you? I changed mine many years ago at a driving test centre but I have renewed it through KEP several times with no problem. If you are under 65 you don't need to have the health and eyesight checks. Once you turn 80 you ne...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

No idea, Bob. It might be worth asking at KEP if they have any information. I don't hit this problem until 2020 so I am hoping everything is sorted out by then, one way or the other. Warwick I asked at the Ag.Nik KEP. They were not aware of any decision or tests available for Expats changing their ...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

Thank-you for the various responses to my problem of attempting to obtain a Greek Driving Licence. I did approach a Driving School in Ag.Nik. he was not aware of any requirements for a written or practical test. I was actually looking forward to Driving test as I have not had one since 1962. Althoug...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

Can anyone advise please. I have applied for my Greek Driving Licence. Completed all the required paperwork only to be told that I cannot proceed any further until I have taken and passed the written test. I asked if I could sit this test the next day only to be informed that there is currently no s...

Re: The Will of the People

A second Vote?. OK let's have one, maybe the majority will vote to Remain. What happens then? The Leavers all complain and have mass meeting, lots of protest marches etc etc. So we then have a third referendum on the subject. Will it be the best of three, or maybe the best of Five?. NO Second vote, ...

Re: Predictions for 2019 include a Hard Brexit

That's it Stop enough. I am fed up with reading the ridiculous comments from both sides of the depart and remain EU brigades. Some of the comments are becoming quite rude. If we were in the UK some of the contributors could be accused of racism. Nobody, but nobody knows what will happen if the UK le...

Re: CAR TYRES

The test station is correct. Due to the intensity of the sun, the side walls of the tyre become damaged by being softer and there are more liable to receive a puncture. Punctures to the side wall of a tyre are far more dangerous, in terms of safety, than the area around the tread of the tyre. A side...

Re: Flights

I am sick of reading, in this forum, that the majority of contributors seem to think that those of US who voted for exit from the corrupt EU club did not know what we were voting for. I believe that those of you (who seem to be a majority in Crete) did not understand the problems of remaining. Remai...

Re: wedding on Crete,

BW offered http://www.gamoscrete.com/ The questioner wanted to get married in Eastern Crete not West Crete. My advise was to get married in one of the larger Hotels. Most have a Marriage Consultant . It is generally not possible to marry in a Chapel or Church in Greece unless you are orthodox . I kn...

Re: wedding on Crete,

https://weddingincrete.gr/ They cater for the west side of the Island not the east. The Town Halls in Heraklion and also in Hersonissos are very helpful. I believe that it has become much easier and cheaper than 3 or 4 years ago. My advise would be to visit one of the above Town Halls and ask to spe...

Re: wedding on Crete,

Hi, I am a Wedding Photographer, retired on Crete and have photographed almost 100 weddings here over the past 9 years. I very much doubt that you will be permitted to wed in a Chapel or Church unless you are of the Greek Orthodox faith, even if it is privately owned . I have only known 1 non Greek ...
