Re: changing electricity supplier

I changed to KEN a couple of years ago. The Estimated Bill arrives every month with a correction bill every 4 months. They have a very good easy to use web site. I post my monthly reading on the website on the day advised, I have estimated bills. I also settle my account via the website. I receive a...

Re: How Bad Is The Greek Tax System?

Does not sound very promising. 7% on all income? According to the article if my total annual income is £12,000 = 13,080 euros at the current rate of (1.09) = 915 euro tax. whereas in the UK the deductible tax = £0.00. What rate of transfer will they use?. The rate is currently like a yo yo. No thres...

Kilkis wrote That is a genuine web site. Have a look at this live WITS web page. If you look under the heading Product Code you will see 902780. Now look at the WITS table in TweetTweet's link. Under product code it also has 902780. Admittedly the TweetTweet table is for 2017 and the one I have lin...

Re: UK Bank accounts for ex pats

Please, can we all stop panicking, my wife also reads the forum and she is currently at 20,000 feet and climbing. She worries far too much. Warwick (Kilkis) Many thanks for your long sensible post. Re: UK car to Crete Import cost?

I drove from UK to Crete with the intention of registering the Land Rover here. The Customs duty plus the taxes was not worth it, well beyond the value of the car. My advise is, if you do it, try and sell, as I did, to someone going back. With UK plates you will NOT be able to insure the car here an...

...Greece could become self sufficient I was referring to the Gas and Oil reserves that have been found close to Crete and I believe also some sites close to the mainland. Because the Greek Government dillied and dallied over the discovery some 10 years ago, Red Tape being the main reason for the d...

Re: Nothing has changed on here then

No, Living in Crete forum must never change to Facebook, twitter etc. The forum is perfect in it's current form. I do not use any of those so called social sites. I know what they look like as friends have shown me and attempted to get me to use them. Never must this forum change. It's format is exc...

Re: VPNs for BBC iPlayer

I have used SoftEther for many years without any problem, BBC, ITV, Chanel 4 and 5. Cost is £50.00 per year. I also use it to mask my location, but have to turn it off when we watch Netflix as it expects me not to be in the UK.

It is available from Unblockmytelly which used to be S4U.

Yes I know about the Sport. Very popular in Derbyshire where I hailed from. I have never played it, but on a visit to UK last year watched my friend play. The average age of both teams was 65. The youngest player was 60 the eldest was 72. Hence from my experience an Old Mans game. Just for the recor...
