Re: Driving

My advice to to work through one of the following sites which challenge about the Greek driving law/procedures (yes, surprisingly there are correct road procedures) . The first one is the best, scroll down for the car section. The others are also good. There are many differences to the UK, in partic...

DOG KENNELS

My wife and I would like to visit UK in October for two weeks. We need to kennel our Dog in a Dog Hotel. Unfortunately Crete Kennels do not have any spare room during the period that we would like to visit. Does anyone have any information about Kreta Rex House has been working as a dog kennel, dog ...

Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

GlennB wrote Seems the UK embassy here has just posted some (to me) disturbing information regarding healthcare in the UK for returning expats. It can, it seems, take 6 months or more to earn the right to routine NHS treatment as it's only available to those who live there on a "settled basis&q...

Re: Pound - Euro fx rate

Why are so many Topics in this Forum all Doom and Gloom?. Folks get a life. We all live in a wonderful place. Generally much cheaper to live than in the UK. So the GBP has lost it's value. Complaining and moaning will not make it better. Not so long ago the rate was 1:17. It will come back again. No...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

I visited the Lasithi Driving Licence Office in Agios Nikolaos this morning. It has been confirmed that the Test for over 74 year olds has stopped and will be replaced by a medical. However, things may change before the 31 December 2019. I have been given a temporary Driving Licence valid until 31/1...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

Bobscott Wrote Let's just hope the doctors don't go on strike like the test examiners did! Submited our licences for renewal in January this year, passed our tests on 25 June and still waiting for the licence (without which we can't hire a car overseas!). Bob. I applied September 2018. Still awaiti...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

Warrick wrote Yes. It's all done at the same site. Vehicle ownership change, driving licence change/renewal, driving tests etc. I'm not sure which building you would need to go to for the test. Immediately inside the gate is a long building to the right. I believe the office where you change/renew a...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

We took our tests for the over 74's last week. It took each of us about 7 minutes to drive around the circuit - a continuous series of instructions to turn right! No written test, no emergency stop, no parking. Just drive from the test centre car park and arrive back there 7 minutes later! We have ...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

Has anyone who is over the age of 74 taken the written exam to change from a UK licence to a Greek Licence. Gone through all the pain of the paper work 6 months, each visit a new request. She has run out of requests, I hope, and has told me to find a Lawyer who will translate the test for me. Quotes...

Re: Problems with Flash Player?

The BBC News web site reports it as an error with Flash but Flash was working properly. I suspect, but don't know for sure, that the BBC News web site is using some other feature, perhaps DRM, and that was not working because Media Feature Pack was missing. I have just connected to the BBC web site...

Re: Problems with Flash Player?

I have not had a problem viewing BBC via my WIndows 10 laptop.
I do not ever recall installing Media feature pack.
I do have the latest version of Adobe flash player.
I watch ITV and BBC via a VPN.
