Re: Parcelforce to Crete

If the label has your Greek mobile number on it the ACS office that services your area should contact you to arrange delivery or pick up.

Re: Parcelforce to Crete

It depends how they are sent. If they are sent "Tracked" then Parcelforce usually hands them over to SCS, a European courier service, and from SCS to ACS in Greece, a local Greek courier service. If you put the Parcelforce tracking number into the SCS web site it should give you an SCS tra...

Re: Greek Driving Licence

A few of comments: 1 You could have done everything at KEP without going to the licensing office. Once you reach 80 you have to go to the licensing office. 2 You may find it takes more than one month. I've known it take 8 weeks. I believe there is one person in Athens who issues all licences for Gre...

Re: Driving

Thanks for the details. I am guessing that that is the fee for a Norwegian licence? I think the exact fee will vary depending in which country the licence is issued and exactly who you apply to for the IDP. In the UK for example the Post Office quote for applying in a branch: 1 Your full UK driving ...

Re: UK v Greek Driving Licence

There are often derogations for individual countries in EU Directives and that can make them confusing. Often the Commission gets almost complete agreement on a Directive but some member states disagree on a specific issue. To get round the impasse the Directive will typically give an overall requir...

Re: Driving

As I see it there are two possibilities: 1 As part of the Brexit deal the UK could agree to keep the EU format for UK driving licences and the UK/EU could agree to continue mutual recognition. I see two possible snags with this solution. I can't see hard line Brexiteers being happy with the logo in ...

Re: Driving

Yes, it is a pretty general requirement. For example if you look at the Europcar site in the UK it states: If you are renting outside of the country your licence was issued in, if you driving licence is not written in the English language and /or the characters cannot be read in the renting country,...

Re: UK v Greek Driving Licence

I got the following reply to my email to Ask Police, my emphasis in red: Thank you for your email. The requirement to keep your address on your driving licence current only applies when you change your address within that country but nonetheless, when you go to another EU country your EU driving lic...

Re: Dermatologist

Yellow pages for Rethymno only lists 3. The rest are mainly in Heraklion. You could try phoning them. If you have to come to Chania you could try Spyros Gramvousakis. I found him quite good and other friends have used him. Perfect English.

Re: UK v Greek Driving Licence

...Discovered to my chagrin this morning that only applies up to the age of 70! After that, driving a car not owned by you is illegal unless you are specifically covered by the insurance for that vehicle... Thanks for that information, Bob. I wasn't aware of that either. Having just hit 72 I can't ...

Re: Taxisnet up?

On 10 April ekathimerini reported that it would be operational the following week for 2017 submissions so I assume it has been open since at least 20 April, possibly earlier. Cut off was reported then as the end of June but sometimes there are extensions.

Re: UK v Greek Driving Licence

Having read my post again, I think the following statement in it is probably NOT correct, my highlight in red: ...As far as I can see anybody who continues to drive in Greece on a valid UK licence for an extended period, even if they are permanently resident are not breaking any law... It is against...

Re: UK v Greek Driving Licence

No it doesn't have to be renewed before its validity expires. The Directive currently governing EU driving licences is DIRECTIVE 2006/126/EC . The Directive came into force in 2006. Member states had until 19 January 2011 to transpose its requirements into national law and until 19 January 2013 to a...

I'm guessing but you would probably need to sell several body parts to be able to afford it.
