Re: Property Register declaration

...And of course, your accountant will charge for his time..... Andrew That does depend a bit on your relationship with your accountant and what exactly he needs to do. Mine tends to charge a fixed annual fee and only charges extra if there is some major extra work to do. I have only been charged e...

Re: Block on renewal of IKA books due to BREXIT

Not really. The reciprocal agreement on citizens rights in the proposed EU withdrawal agreement is between the UK and the EU and would apply in all EU member states. If the UK leaves the EU without a deal then it would be necessary for the UK to negotiate bilateral agreements with each member state ...

Re: How do I catch a bus? Or taxi?

God, I wouldn't risk that with a vehicle driven by a Greek driver. It's quite possible that he has never even taken a driving test let alone passed one.

Re: Property Register declaration

The E9 declaration tells the tax office that you own a certain property together with its details. They will use that to issue ENFIA demands for example. You also need to include the purchase on an E1 declaration for that year together with the price paid. The tax office will use that to decide if y...

Re: Property Register declaration

The whole purpose of the registry is to have an accurate record of legal title, Jeff. If you own land, with or without a house you should have a contract from a notary. The registry wants to record who owns what. The local land registry did a partial job by recording the contracts but the new land r...

Re: How do I catch a bus? Or taxi?

Neither would I, John. I put Chania town buses as a search term into the Yahoo search engine and it was the third web site listed. Putting it into Google gives 8 pages of results and it is not in them at all. Clear message: "Don't rely on Google". I've only caught taxis from town so I don'...

Re: PROPERTY REGISTRATION

..I was of the opinion that providing the House is not an illegal build/refurbish it would automatically be registered by the Company having the plans approved. I believe it is the notary contract showing who owns the property that is registered with the local land registry, ktimatologio. I would e...

Re: Block on renewal of IKA books due to BREXIT

... Maybe during what is being called "The Transitional Period " UK citizens will be able to sign up with IKA with no problems. .. There is only a Transition/Implementation Period if a deal is agreed. In the event of no-deal all agreements cease on 29 March 2019. Unless and until the UK a...

Re: How do I catch a bus? Or taxi?

Information on Chania Urban buses.

Fares are divided into Zone A and B with Mournies in Zone A. You can buy tickets on the bus but it costs more. Tickets are valid for 90 days so you can buy multiple, tickets if you wish.

Re: Camera on my desktop

Out of curiosity did the camera come with a CD? If it did and you used it to load drivers for the camera it is quite possible that it also loaded an App as well. I have a Logitech web cam. I can't remember the model number but it looks like a black golf ball. That came with an App simply called &quo...

Re: The Will of the People

People believe in all sorts of things, Scooby. Elvis is alive and working in a chip shop in Leeds. There is a WWII B52 bomber on the moon. You may be right but if you are not the scata is dangerously close to the blades of the air circulation device.

Re: Ring fence our rights now - British in Europe

The UK has said that it will unilaterally grant EU citizens, already living legally in the UK, permanent residence status even in the event of a no deal. On the face of it that means there is no incentive for the EU to do anything but that isn't exactly the case. The EU have always claimed that they...

Re: Ring fence our rights now - British in Europe

Excellent letter. I support it 100 %. I think they should send it with a covering letter to every MEP, every MP in the 28 member states, every Commissioner and all 28 heads of state asking them to publicly state that they support this appeal and will act on it or, if they don't support it, to public...

Re: Flight time and taxi help!

...Aegean from Gatwick at 11.30am has a 50 min Athens connection (not every day though). If you book through flights with Aegean they will get you to your final destination at no extra cost even in the event of a delay & missed connection... Is that still true with a 50 minute connection time, ...
