Re: Census Form

If anybody is trying to do the census form online it works pretty well in Chrome but a few drop down boxes don't translate. In the ones asking for your country of origin the selection for anybody from the UK is "128-ΗΝΩΜΕΝΟ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟ". They are in Greek alphabetical order, not numerical ord...

Re: Access to UK televsion channels

I have a paid streaming service, so I don't usually use this method, but I did a quick check on ITV Hub using Nord VPN on my PC. It wouldn't work for me as it said that I had Ad Blockers enabled and I would need to disable them. I disabled the two I know of, uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger, but it ...

Re: Driving with a Uk Licence

There are two issues here. Generally, in the UK and all EU countries, driving licences of other countries are recognised for a period of time. The times may vary from country to country BUT always expire when the licence needs renewing. In the UK and all EU countries a driving licence is only suppos...

Re: Access to UK televsion channels

As Tim says, Jane, while BBC iPlayer is an App on a tablet and smart phone, on a PC, either desktop or laptop, it is just a web page that you access through your browser. Make sure you connect to a UK server with Nord VPN before you visit the web page. You need to log on and you will be asked if you...

Re: NHS COVID PASS

...The QR code is still not recognised when downloaded to the Greek gov wallet app however the paper print out when scanned is recognised . I was with someone today who's paper print out worked when scanned , but the wallet version was rejected.. Have they tried storing the NHS Pass as a simple pdf...

Re: unvaccinated

If you are entitled to a normal AMKA then it is pretty much instantaneous but if you are getting it by some back-door route then I have no idea how long it will take.

Re: NHS COVID PASS

I am not sure what you mean by "together with the NHS Covid Pass"? If you mean the NHS Pass that proves that you have been vaccinated in the UK then that is certainly recognised by the Greek COVID App used to scan QR codes at the entrance to such establishments provided it was downloaded s...

Re: Land Registry (Cadastre)

As a follow up to my previous post, I went to the Ktimatologio office this morning. The whole process took about 20 minutes with no queuing and was straightforward. It works like a production line. The first person I saw was at a desk immediately to the right of the door and she checked all the docu...

Re: unvaccinated

Some real figures are reported here for the USA, where a very large number of vaccines, especially mRNA types, have been administered. It is from the Journal of the American Medical Association based on cases reported to CDC through their normal monitoring programme but, hey, what would that bunch o...

Re: Booster COVID Vaccination

I am not sure if your EU vaccination certificate will be able to be updated if you get your booster in the UK BUT if the UK system can recognise your Greek vaccination record and issue a UK certificate showing that you have had 3 vaccines with the dates the Greek scanning App should recognise your U...

Re: unvaccinated

paul g said: "It's moronic to be unvaccinated." What's your rationale paul? The scientific data: 1 If you catch COVID and are vaccinated you are around 10 times less likely to become seriously ill and/or die than someone who is not vaccinated. No current drug either real, e.g. Remdesivir,...

Re: Land Registry (Cadastre)

I have discovered that you can easily make an appointment online. Open http://georeg.mywire.org/KtimaWeb30/Appointment.aspx in the Chrome Browser and it does a good job of translating everything into English. A few pages to work through but all very obvious. I have just done it and got an appointmen...

Re: Vodafone PAYG call charges

I don't use data at all and have mobile data turned off. I only connect to the internet through WiFi. I don't use my phone for emails or browsing, much to small, but obviously lots of Apps need internet access.

Re: Vodafone PAYG call charges

A friend has a contract with Cosmote. I don't know which contract it is but he doesn't have a smart phone so he is only using it for speech and texts. That seems to cost him around €24 per month. The cheapest contract with Vodafone seems to be around €25 per month. On my Vodafone PAYG if I top up €1...

Re: unvaccinated

...And they represent five percent or one percent or one tenth of a percent of the population? I don't see the point of quoting hypothetical figures when neither you nor I have any idea what the percentage is. That is why I restricted my comment to "...a very small percentage of the population...
