Re: The Will of the People

Who cares anymore. There we have it Scooby. Those of us whose lives will be affected in a tangible way certainly care. For starters to us brexit means the loss of complete freedom to work, possible loss of pensions (aggregated or index linked), healthcare, expensive residency and work permits (if w...

Re: OTE Landline contracts

I have just renewed mine, but it includes the Broadband. I'm presuming yours doesn't?............ Mine does includes broadband (VDSL50) and basic phone service without any of the packages of free minutes on offer.. Your OTE contract must have been renewed more recently than 17 years ago if you have...

Re: Highway Roadworks near Aptera

Much better arrangement this morning. The road work signs are displayed much further back than before and there are a lot more of them. The normal highway speed signs have been covered over. There are now three men with flags, ushering vehicles through. There are orange bollards fixed to road from t...

Re: Voting in Greece -EU & local Elections

It does look like the registration lasts a long time. I registered to vote in the municipal elections in 2010 and I am still showing as registered. Warwick Yes, I registered around 1999 at the local koinotita, which then moved to a local dimos, which then became part of the larger Chania dimos and ...

Re: Highway Roadworks near Aptera

I think you are right. Its going to take some time to fix the road. Its a sheer drop and needs a lot of foundation to build it back up to road level. It could take months. Am sure they are giving it their priority considering the tourist season is here and the increase in traffic. I heard they are ...

Re: Parking at Chania airport

I wasn't there but my husband had some fun paying - I think he had to go to a machine first to pay before exiting. A big queue built up behind him as he hadn't realised that was the system. There was no way to pay at the exit. If you are likely to be there more than 20 minutes, check exactly what y...

Re: Currency Transfers, possible problems.

I made some local Greek bank payments on Friday afternoon, 19th April and the transfer date came up as Tuesday 23rd April. Greece to Greece transfer between two Greek banks, so some of the Greek banks were not registering local transactions over the Catholic Easter. Very strange!

Re: rent or buy?

I merely posted my opinions on the fees. I didnt quite expect to get my head ripped off with silly replies from people. When your disparaging comment: "if you are a foreigner you wil be scammed and ripped off with hidden fees and costs." turns out to be baseless, you should expect, at lea...

Time for Carolina to start working out how to counteract an inbuilt self-destruct bug when the number of pages becomes 3-digits long? Bob.
