Re: The Will of the People

This is a very interesting interview with Oliver Norgrove, former Vote Leave staffer, talking about trade & the EU, Northern Ireland, ' Project Fear', Brexit media voices etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGwz-u5otzk (unrelated to Scooby's post above - just posted around the same time without ...

Re: The Will of the People

. Concerns for leavers was 1. Sovereignty 2. Immigration 3 feeling disenfranchised from the bureaucrats in Brussels. Remain camp voted to remain mainly about economy and free movement. Scooby, your answers 1 and 3 are basically the same point, and what do they even mean? Sovereignty? What laws woul...

Re: The Will of the People

That’s strange, I was reading an article about how leavers understand a remainer’s reasons more than the other way round and you have just confirmed it Carol. Yes that makes sense, as you refuse to give reasons and I just can' t see any. You refused to answer a direct question as ' you didn't want ...

Re: The Will of the People

Leavers - can you tell me why you want Brexit? What are the tangible benefits for you and your families and friends & society that you think you will get by leaving? I may be wrong, but an argument I've seen, which I comprehend, is based on principle. Exactly. Still waiting for anyone to name a...

Re: 15 Year Voting Rule - Bill

This bill failed to pass through the commons yesterday and Guardian is branding us all Tax Exiles! No mention of us exercising our right to freedom of movement to live and work in the EU, just making us all sound like rich tax dodgers. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/mar/22/tories-cling-on...

The petition committee have said 'just 4% of signatories are from outside the UK with the majority coming from countries with large British expat populations like France, Spain, Germany and the US.' https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/brexit-petition-to-hit-4-million-signatures-on-governmen...

Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

And the (new?) S1 info says

'An S1 certificate helps you and your dependents access free healthcare in the country where you live in the EU/EEA/Switzerland. If you have an S1 certificate, it may not be valid in the event of no deal, depending on decisions by and arrangements with your host state '

Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

I think you need to add the next paragraphs to that text Voni - 'This means the UK government will continue to pay for healthcare costs for current or former UK residents who are living or working in or visiting the EU. The government wants to work with EU partners to reach such agreements. But if c...

Another Scam - OTE (not)

Calls from 0046 ... numbers (country code Sweden) claiming to be from OTEnet and that you have a router/computer virus. They only speak English . I was pestered by them with 20 or more calls in 24 hours. I answered the first call and realised they were scammers (male with an Indian accent). Put the ...
