Re: Theodori Island

I think it is just one day per year that you can visit Agios Theodoros - Αγιος Θεοδώρος - on the Name Day, June 8th.

Re: ATM withdrawal charges for prepaid cards

Had mine for about two years and always been charged for withdrawals, but I've just realised that mine is a Caxton 'Business' prepaid debit card.

Re: Permanent Residence Document

If you are asked for proof of income and healthcare insurance you might consider drawing the officers attention to the official government guidance. Warwick Then again, you might not want to get involved with what would be a fairly heated exchange (I imagine) with someone who thinks they make the l...

Re: Permanent Residence Document

Although not listed, you will also be asked for proof of address which, according to the Embassy, could be a legal rental agreement, a tax statement or a utility bill. The above source is an official Greek police web site. If you are asked for proof of income and healthcare insurance you might cons...

Re: IKA Renewal Heads Up

I am just collecting all the relevant paperwork for the blue permit. They ask for proof of residence. All house related papers and bills are in my husbands name. Anyone any ideas what will qualify as proof of residence in this case? Do you mean something with your address on ? What about from the b...

Re: IKA Renewal Heads Up

Was skimmimg through the thread earlier, comment now on Warwick's points - It is possible for a worker, therefore, to apply for a residency certificate without health insurance and then use that to register with IKA. As I explained above, imposing the same condition on people who are self supporting...

Re: IKA Renewal Heads Up

Nothing has yet been agreed for healthcare for non residents or those who split their time between EU countries, or travellers - "The UK and EU have also now agreed a reciprocal healthcare arrangement, as set out in the Withdrawal Agreement – this means that if you’re a Brit resident in Greece ...

Re: IKA Renewal Heads Up

Surely that is their only concern. It may be a valid concern for the UK whether you are entitled to the cover but as...

Re: IKA Renewal Heads Up

Wifey checked this morning, you can renew through the KEP office, however IKA are now insisting, that if your res permit was issued 5 or more years ago, you cannot renew without getting a blue permanent one. Wow. It seems like the wise thing to do anyway, get a blue permanent residence certificate ...

Re: Carry-On Counting

Is it possible that check-in at UK airports is being handled by an independent agent rather than by Aegean staff? That might account for the sudden tightening up? No airline has their own staff for check in at airports. Check in and boarding are handled by ground agents, employed by the airline. Gr...
