Re: Weather websites

I use The Weather Channel (set to Malaxa) which is pretty accurate for the wind and rain reports hour by hour. I also use BBC Weather set to Souda which is not too bad with accuracy but the reason I like it is because it is easy to see a ten day pattern.

Re: A New Case

I have had similar experiences and return home thoroughly distressed. I for one will continue with my gloves and face mask and hope that as the island becomes more populated over Summer, that such precautions will become the norm.

A New Case

I follow NSA Souda on Facebook and a few hours ago they posted the Team Souda, “The Chania General Hospital director reported this morning that a 76-year-old man from Chania tested positive for COVID-19. He is in good condition and is being treated in the hospital's COVID-19 clinic. Contact tracing ...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

My interpretation of the relevant part of the article may be wrong but I understand it to mean that the date of the 15th July is revisable going forward and not that it might be revised to an earlier date: “Residents of countries having what Greece deems unfavorable current epidemiological character...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Within the TaxOasis email is a link to Greece Greek Reporter and on it you can see an article titled ‘Greece Releases Initial List of Nations that Can Send Tourists to the Country. Within the article it specifically mentions that UK residents cannot enter Greece until the 15th July and that date wil...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Frustratingly I cannot find the article I had read. It mentioned several countries, the UK amongst them, that Greece would not be accepting flights from until the earliest the 15th July and that that date was subject to review in relation to the ‘R’ number (see Kilkis’ post 25.5.20, Item 5). Lynn PS...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Owning a gun and actually HAVING it in your hand ready to use are two completely different things. It reminds me of when I always had a personal alarm in my bag when I worked in London. Fortunately I never had to use it but I often wondered if a would-be attacker would wait for me to open my bag, ru...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

I have just read the following from a Facebook post and found it very interesting: QUOTE “Good info that many of us know - but it can't hurt to refresh ... it's so tempting to become complacent - we can't. From Yale Epidemiologist, Jonathan Smith, a lecturer in Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases and...

Re: The Lotus Eaters

Inspired by your comments I have just looked on Amazon. While The Lotus Eaters is selling at a reasonable price of just under £10, Who Pays the Ferryman is a whopping price of i.r.o. £70.
