Transfer Ambassador is a grand term for a bloke in a hi-vis vest but yes there was assistance for transfer passengers on a late inbound flight from LHR in January this year. A company called Almeco provides outdoor furniture for many of the hotels and bars on Crete, they also sell into the domestic market, their factory and showroom is located off the National Road, Rethymno, take the Atsipopoulo turn off from the National Road.

My trees are in the south of Rethymno prefecture, olive fly (Dacus) has been a big problem in this area this year. Practically it is difficult to act individually against olive fly, you can buy Eco Traps or use home made traps baited with ammonia but unless nearby olive growers are taking similar pr...

The cost of processing at our communal olive press is 10% of the oil produced, it's a neat system.

You would need to check with your local olive press, the communal press in our village will process individual batches as small as two sacks. The alternative, not quite so appealing is to add your olives to a larger batch, the olive press would probably arrange this for you.

Thanks Graeme, I am happy to report that we have found someone to take care of Molly during our Xmas trip back to the UK. We have previously used the website http://www.mindmyhouse.com to find house and pet sitters for longer periods and will almost certainly use the service again in the future Peter
