Re: Is driving with flip flops legal?

My car hire people have told me that it is illegal to drive in Greece wearing flip flops, and if stopped by police you can be fined. They also said it is best to ignore the amount of locals who drive wearing flip flops. Do as we say, not as we do springs to mind.

Re: Maximum passenger numbers in a private car

The last line on HairyBlokes link is:

The new rules are reportedly valid until July 12, 2020, when the protection measures framework will be re-evaluated.

Re: Maximum passenger numbers in a private car

I have a car hired for October and contacted the hire company concerning numbers as there will be four of us in the car and was told that this is perfectly legal as we are family members. Somehow, this doesn't fill me with confidence.

Re: WD-40

WD40 stopped using fish oil as an ingredient many years ago. People still swear by it as a scent additive for fishing bait though. Not too good for the sea though I would imagine.

I'm surprised he managed to stop short of calling the locals peasants in his patronising manner. Bet the taverna's were cheap then though.

Re: Green

We noticed quite a few roads where the edges had been washed away and plenty evidence of temporary repairs but it looked so vibrant compared to normal. I looked at photos I had taken in the past near Saktouria and the difference is night and day in terms of colour - the old picture brown, the new on...

Green

I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Crete, and although we have been there early in the season before I can't remember it ever having been so green. This was in the south of the island and it was beautiful to see so much colour compared to the more natural brown shades we're used to. I supp...

Isn't indicative voting the same instrument that Labour used to get the wrong Milliband as leader?

The right honourable member for the 18th century is now saying May's deal is better than no Brexit. Could we see another MV tomorrow with the tories united?

Re: Cigarette smoke issue

As an ex smoker who now vapes it's interesting to look at things from both sides as it were. My wife still smokes and at our hotel in Crete I would accompany my wife outside when she went for a smoke, whereas you can vape indoors. The owners of the hotel smoked indoors naturally enough. I get people...

It's not much longer of a route and I've been informed by the car rental company that even if Britain crashes out and plague, pestilence and famine ensue, my British licence is still accepted in Greece - result!

We have a week booked in Plakias next month so I take it we will have to take the long way down through Mirthios.
