Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

Johnson has to get a deal. If not it will be the end of his political career. He will not be the ‘sweetheart’ of the Conservative Party if we don’t leave the U.K. on the 31st October....so ‘bye bye Boris.’ If we leave without a deal and jobs are lost, food costs more, there are shortage of items, th...

Re: Driving

Reading most of this could be off putting Elena. It is much easier driving on Crete than in the U.K. - Just take your time and don’t think that everyone blowing a horn at you is angry with you. As Warwick mentioned, if you are on the National Road, stick to your own lane, and just pull over to the s...

Re: Driving

I think it was seven years last May that the roundabout appeared in Sitia Mixos, so you are not far out with your guess. I only know as we drove there in a friend’s car from the south coast to have a few days holiday in the East. I had not driven the car previously and has taken over the driving aft...

Re: Driving

If you are driving a LHD car it all comes naturally. You have to think about it a bit more with a RHD one, but only for the first few trips. Roundabouts, overtaking etc.

Good advice from Peebee. - Use the time when the roads are quiet to get some experience in.

Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

I agree with Warwick. I cannot see EU countries funding free health care for U.K. nationals unless residents of Spain, Portugal, Greece etc get it in the U.K.

I assume it is why it wasn’t mentioned in the article I posted. - Nobody knows what will happen yet. It is so unsettling for people.

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

£4.5 billion is fine then Guy. What are we worrying about? A close friend has a brother who has made his fortune in Hedge Fund management. The sums are mind boggling! To be honest it is obscene. (My friend, who is a bit of a Socialist, and her brother are not ‘close!’). These people have funded Brex...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

Absolutely Guy. The point is though that most people don’t realise this. It never ceases to amaze me that many Brexiteers interviewed think they won’t be affected by the U.K. leaving the EU. I have even heard people say that they never go abroad on holiday so it won’t affect them at all! These are s...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

I understand that some ‘evidence’ has come to light from early August ....in the same correspondence where BJ makes a derogatory comment about Cameron.....to show BJ’s real reason for proroguing Parliament. - It is this that has swayed the Scottish judges. Of course the Government will contest this,...

Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

Not sure if this has been posted on here previously, but it was on the BBC News page today. It doesn’t give any information about obtaining free health care in EU countries but explains clearly which UK citizens residing in the EU will get free heath care when visiting the U.K. https://www.bbc.co.uk...

I think you will find it interesting Keltz. - Let me know your view. It is repeated on Sunday mornings, as well as Saturdays.

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

Does anyone else watch Dateline London? - BBC again I am afraid Keltz, but worth watching.

It covers much broader issues than Brexit, but as it has ‘international’ journalists and academics as its guests, the E.U. ones bring a different aspect to the debate when Brexit is discussed.

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

I fear that if we see subversive actions everywhere Keltz the world will be in a very bad place. If I remember correctly the Bilderberg Group was set up originally to ensure there would never be another disaster like the Second Wold War. They now look at matters like climate change and world poverty...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

There is a lot of truth in what you say Keltz, but I think that the 21+ Amber Rudd.......and of course Phillip Lee, for walking ‘across the floor’ in the middle of BJ’s speech, shows there is still some decency in a few politicians. It seems unfair to blame them personally for years of austerity. As...

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

I was aware that no criticism was intended re members not living full time on Crete Warwick. You are so measured in your responses to posts it is obvious that you accept other people have different ideas and arrangements to your own. Thank you anyway for pointing that out. If I may take up your son’...

Re: Absolutely no reason!

The problem escalated back in 1994 with Goldsmith and the creation of the Referendum Party.....which then morphed in to UKIP. Brexit has always been a disaster waiting to happen.
