Re: The Will of the People

If anyone wants to read the Twitter thread, it is very interesting. It shows exactly what we have all been saying on here. - People voted for Brexit for many different reasons. Some still stick by their original decision, others have changed their minds. No wonder the country is still deeply divided...

Re: The Will of the People

Monday lunchtime up-date..... Boris has changed his mind again this morning. He is now urging colleagues not to vote for the deal! - What a shame the U.K. public isn’t allowed the opportunity to change its mind if it want to! I agree with you about people and jobs/work experience Warwick. - Experien...

Re: The Will of the People

Hmm....I am not sure why Warwick attributed the comment re Eton and PPE to me? Both Boris and Rees Mogg went to Eton, but as you mention Guy, they did not read PPE. - If I am not mistaken Cameron did though, as did Edward Heath. It has always been seen as a good degree to go in to Politics with. My ...

Re: The Will of the People

I certainly don’t want an Elton educated Prime Minister with a PPE from Oxford Kilkis, and I have made that clear on here previously. Surely we would not end up with a buffoon like Boris, or a pompous, condescending git like Rees Mogg? I know what you are saying though.......we need to be careful wh...

Re: The Will of the People

You have obviously not watched ‘Dateline London’ kamisiana, it might be a BBC programme, but it has national and international guests with a vast range of views. - I think you would enjoy it. I agree with Keltz’s view on the Press, but one would be foolish to ignore it. The sensible position would b...

Re: The Will of the People

As you mention Toebs, May’s tariff promise won’t help anyone. It is just being ‘dangled as a carrot’ to persuade consumers and some businesses that all will be well. It is another attempt at a ‘short term fix’ to quell fears about future trade plus price hikes. I watched Dateline London on the BBC N...

Re: The Will of the People

Yes thank you kamisiana, I had seen Warwicks post before I replied.....hence me making a reference to it in my own post if you had read it carefully. For your information, if someone else posts on the same thread as you whilst you are posting, you should get a message when you hit ‘submit’ that tell...

Re: The Will of the People

Did you read Keltz’s post above yours before you posted Kamisiana? Even if we exit on the 30th March, and even if May imposes zero tariffs on many goods, (despite the information in Kelrz’s post), she has said they would only be in place for UP TO a year. She has admitted that this would be done so ...

Re: The Will of the People

Scooby, I think you have been chatting to J Rees-Mogg! That is what he said when interviewed by the BBC this evening.....and then got contradicted by about half a dozen people! The legislation will be changed so that Article 50 can be extended.

What happens next is anyone’s guess!

Re: The Will of the People

As you are aware Warwick, contradictiory statements have endured through this whole Brexit process. No wonder most of us don’t believe a word we hear any longer.

Re: The Will of the People

May’s trip last night achieved nothing new as such. The intention of the EU and the U.K. was not to have an indefinite backstop. All it did was put it in writing in a “legal’ form. Yes, if the U.K. is unhappy about the length of time the U.K. is in the backstop ....if it is ever...it can now go to a...

Re: Living in Greece without Registration Certificate, help/advice needed.

We would not risk it. I would not want to be driving vehicle that wasn’t ‘legal’ for the roads. I was just curious, as when we book in on the ferries Italy/Greece/Italy, it amazes me how much information the new computerised systems seem to have these days! The same goes for the 90 days if we ‘crash...

Re: Living in Greece without Registration Certificate, help/advice needed.

You are very lucky straycat-67 to get away with keeping a U.K. registered car in Greece from April/May until Dec/Jan. Have you ever been stopped and questioned about it? We are very careful not to overstay the six months.....as are other friends from the U.K. who spend six months at their island hom...

Re: Citizens Rights Amendment

Your last paragraph is absolutely correct Warwick....but then so is your comment about people being gullible about all sorts of things, not just Brexit! I would like to think that as we get older we get wiser, but I am not sure that is the case with everyone! I just hope it is in my own case!

Re: Citizens Rights Amendment

I am originally from Wales and therefore have followed the Brexit saga there very closely. You are correct Kilkis, the majority of the people in Wales did vote for Brexit, - which was astonishing, seeing as Wales was one of the biggest beneficiaries of EU money. However, I now believe Keltz is corre...
