Re: Paperwork after a death

My husband died recently - Cosmote have advised I need the following 3 documents (Google translate meanings have me confused)! 1. ληζιαρχιθν πραζη θανατου - death regimen 2. Ληζιαρχιυμ πράξη θανάτου συγγενών - Religious act of death of relatives 3. Ληζιαρχιυμ πράξη θανάτου καταστασης - A deadly act...

Re: How long should it take to purchase a house?

.......The deposit was paid directly to the owners in the UK........ If the deposit is "safe", maybe the vendor should dump the present lawyer as I suggested earlier. If the lawyer is the problem, dump him and start again. A decent lawyer will have it done in a few weeks, assuming no majo...

Re: How long should it take to purchase a house?

It sounds like they have a crap lawyer. Who was the deposit paid to? If to their lawyer then it is possible he has spent it and is delaying to avoid having to come up with the money? If the sellers' lawyer is the problem I suspect that only the sellers can resolve it. How they could do that I am no...

Re: Latest EHIC & Reciprocal Healthcare

My sister just applied for an S1 from NHSBSA. Seems quite simple now. All done on the phone, then they send you the form. Or was that how it always worked? Don't remember. For those still dithering: 0044 191 218 1999 (option 5) Now or never. Not that we know whether it will give us any rights after ...

Re: ENFIA Property Tax online now

Well, I think it depends on the definition of a plot. Of course every house stands on the ground. What I meant was a plot as in extra land over and above what the house itself stands on. Even then, I think it depends on other factors as to whether it is shown on one line or two. Maybe in or out of v...

Re: ENFIA Property Tax online now

Thanks for adding that, Andrew. My description is based on a single property with a single owner. Clearly in the case of the aristocracy with vast estates it is more complicated.Warwick Naughty. :D But if you have a single house, but on a plot, they are shown separately, so you will see multiple li...

Re: ENFIA Property Tax online now

If you have a house on a plot, or more than one property, there will be more than one line down the page. As Warwick said, for each line the objective value is the far right hand column, headed ΑΞΙΑ ΑΚΙΝΗΤΟΥ. Your discount is shown at the top right of the form, where there will be a TOTAL objective ...

Re: ENFIA Property Tax online now

.......... it ought to be possible to simply recognise what you need to do without actually understanding the Greek. You clearly haven't tried.... :D On another front, anyone found any reference to how they are calculating the discounted tax? My discount is 20%, my other half's is 27%. Not obvious ...

Although I don't think you will get far if you cannot read Greek. It appears only the landing page has an English version.

Just got a quote. £4360 for 71 yo and 59 yo. Hardly a viable solution. Might as well just put money aside each month, and hope for the best.

Re: I smelled a rat, and I found a rat

.......I've said it before - there is a significant tendency for the people in favour of Leave to be perfectly happy to deny freedom, by deception or by force, to others. Of course, that doesn't also apply in any way to Remainers? As has been pointed out here before, it's a highly polarised debate,...
