Re: WIFI calling ...

I would be surprised if they did. Cosmote certainly provide a modem that is a hybrid landline/4G version to boost speeds in areas where the quality of the landline is poor. They also do a 4G only version to provide a broadband router for people with no landline possibility. I am not saying that the...

Re: Cost of driving licenses

Apparently, in Agios Nikolaos, the KEP is the only place you can change a UK licence to a Greek one. They have agreed you do not need a translation of your UK licence.

Re: Tax Reduction

Yes, there have been articles in the Greek press about paying in 8 instalments but I haven't seen any information on how to set it up, Andrew. Out of curiosity, why do you need to go into Taxisnet in order to pay your bill? I just do it with internet banking using the payment code on the tax demand...

Re: Tax Reduction

Also, note that you can now pay by, I think,8 installments. Not sure of the exact number as I didn't take any notice when I paid my bill via Taxisnet. The payment notice your accountant gives you only shows 3 installments, but there has been a new law passed to allow 8 installments. Your accountant ...

Boxes and bubblewrap etc

Does anyone know of a supplier of the above in the Agios Nikolaos area? Or online?

Jackdaw I find your reply REPULSIVE ! Iknow that you don't live in Crete, but have a holiday home here! IF you did live here, you would maybe, be sympathetic, to the elderley population, who live in the mountian regions of Crete, which is where I live & this was quote from the owner of my local ...

Re: The latest info regarding our exchange to Biometric cards .

Yes, thanks Warwick, I'm aware of all that. We've had our blue cards for several years. I was just slightly confused about a post that just talked about registering, when most of the debate on the forum has been about "getting a beige or blue card". Just me being careful in case I'd missed...

Re: The latest info regarding our exchange to Biometric cards .

For the sake of clarity, Ros, by "register" do you mean get a beige or blue residence certificate if you don't already have one?

Re: Barking / unattended dogs nuisance

All you need to do is contact the local police. There are various laws to deal with this, and unless you are unlucky, they will come and speak harshly to the owner of the dog. Unless it's their cousin, obviously.

Re: Advice on UK residency rights in Greece

It is very, very unlikely that the biometric cards will be issued by the Police. As we will be TCN nationals from January I expect we will have to attend the Immigration office, alongside the Albanians, Afghans et al. As far as I am aware, but I could be wrong, EHIC cards, issued by the UK, for use...

Re: Let's alter history

There is quite a deep vein of racism running through Greek society, Andrew, it is just not directed at people like us so you don't really experience it. Even if you do experience, and I have, it is very mild and greatly outweighed by the more common respect. ...... I am very well aware of Greek rac...

Re: Gov.uk petition for enquiry into Brexit

Thank you for finding the link..... Your computer skills are obviously much better than mine!! I know things have been agreed, but I just thought it could be of interest to people on this forum - and an opportunity for further discussion if the petition got enough signatures. Yeah, let's just keep ...
