It may be some time before anyone gets back to you on that one Warwick.

Re: That's all right then

Appreciate your comments, I suppose we never know, or accept what could be round the corner, at least with medical issues I don’t. I suppose I live in a dream world when it comes to this, and hope I’ll just suddenly die in my sleep, thereby not needing medical assistance in any shape or form. Good ...

Re: That's all right then

Cheers, Warwick. I must have fallen asleep before getting to paragraph 28. Sounds good, on the face of it.

Re: That's all right then

I had to smile at this line from page 3....

"Application forms will be short, simple, user friendly"

And no mention of pensions. Well, there wouldn't be since that doesn't involve the EU. No doubt we'll get screwed there though.

That's all right then

I see Mother Theresa is today telling us that our rights as British citizens living in Greece after Brexit,"will be protected". Clear as mud then.

Re: Car tax for 2018

It's good to know that Greece is maintaining the high standards of consistency that we have all come to know and love. Great strides have also been made in efficiency. I am currently going through a full tax audit and have just encountered the following: 1 The tax office is a function of government...

Re: Best places to source DIY products?

There is certainly a no entry going the other way, i.e. as you drive up the last bit going your way there is a no entry just after the left turn into the open car park, but cars seem to be able to drive down that road and turn right into the car park. Warwick So, in that case, you should be able to...

Re: Builders Electricity Costs

You will definitely be charged for council taxes owed if the square metres shown on your electric bill are the notional 10 sq metres that builders usually declare, and the fines can be quite steep. Also, there may be ENFIA owed. Get your accountant to confirm that your E9 property ownership declarat...

Re: Best places to source DIY products?

You may be able to do that, but something is also bugging me about a no entry that way. Not sure. I always go the other way, so I'm a bit hazy about your suggestion.

Re: Best places to source DIY products?

Yes, Warwick is correct about Praktiker. It's got just about everything you could conceivably need and well worth a trip down to Heraklion if you don't mind the drive. Dead easy to find. Take the second exit off the main highway from the west (not into Heraklion centre) but the next one marked for ...

Re: Paying for Renovations

The OP was also asking about paying for a building project. Not so easy these days when many small builders want cash...... But then they also know that things have changed and will often accept payment in small doses. Most decent suppliers of materials have POS machines nowadays so you can just pay...

Re: mirroring to TV.

Is it actually an iPad though? So many people refer to any tablet as an iPad. Ditto iPhone for any smartphone......

If it's not an iPad, different connectors?

Just wondering. Not meaning to be insulting.

Re: Meet the Britsh Ambassador, Chania

...... I think they realise that if they don't tie up an agreement on the first three before discussing trade the UK will walk away when they realise they are not going to get a good trade deal. Surely nothing would be "tied up" until all subjects are agreed and finalised in one agreement...

We've used a VPN service for several years to access the BBC. They've not blocked us yet. Try UKTVPlus. Andrew Hi Andrew I note that these people are based in Crete. Do you think that has any bearing on their apparent reliability, given the problems other providers seem to constantly have? I'm prob...
