Re: Property Register declaration

Just to cheer everybody up. Apparently there is a charge for every property registered, which as Warwick pointed out will be any and all types of property. The amount will be determined based on the details submitted. And of course, your accountant will charge for his time.....

Re: Vodafone SMS

I'm told by family in the UK that they have a problem with Vodafone network there. Trying to find out more. Is this the cause or just coincidence?

Re: Vodafone SMS

Yes, mine is also a dual sim model, I will just have to use the giffgaff sim for the UK txts. You may have a texts package that means there is no difference, but for those that don't, Vodafone's text charges to UK are higher than some UK networks, so it's always better to use the UK SIM, as I recen...

Re: Windows 10 Sleep Problem

Ahh, Windows 10...... My moan is that since September, my desktop PC will not power off. I tell it to shut down from the Start menu, it goes through the full shutdown process but then instantly reboots just before what would have been the final switch off. I have to watch it reach that point then hi...

Re: Face Card

Called International Destination Packs . €6.35 per month for 400 minutes to landlines and 100 minutes to mobiles in the UK. It excludes premium rate numbers as you would expect. Warwick That's the one! When we signed up some years ago there was no minutes allowance, and mobiles were not included, s...

Re: Face Card

Another option that avoids anything too technical is to buy Cosmote's (OTE's) International Free Call package. It's probably not called exactly that, I can't remember, and clearly it's not actually free. For a fixed monthly fee, around 10 euros I think, you can call any landline in the UK from your ...

Re: Currency Index

Looking back over my last five transactions Carolina three have reached my Eurobank account on the same day. The other two the following day. It depends on the time you start the transfer. An early morning transfer will go the same day. After 12 noon on the day of request means the money will proba...

Re: Amazon Delivery

...........My landlady in Kilkis, 50 km north of Thessaloniki, sent her daughter Sunday dinner and many other food parcels this way for the whole time she was studying at University in Athens. We have a friend who regularly sends food parcels on the ferry from Souda to her son in Athens. Apparently...

Clearly not the case in my location. Amazon specify ELTA courier on the tracking sites. The parcel is just treated the same as normal post when it gets to Neapoli.

Re: Amazon Delivery

Andrew, I regularly get parcels via ELTA courier, and they always notify me by text message. In fact I get two - one when the parcel has arrived in Crete, another when it's arrived at the PO. I don't remember doing anything to activate this service, but it is obviously available. So maybe ask at th...

Re: Update from HMG

Not necessary to register for the Ag Nik session either. But you do need ID. Andrew Shouldn't be a problem. You are legally required to carry ID with you at all times in Greece. Warwick Ho, ho, ho. Tell that to some of my chums. I'm so bored of sob stories from people who've been knocked back at a ...

Re: Amazon Delivery

Things are happening. This afternoon I received e-mails, re. two of my awaited deliveries, telling me they've been passed on to ELTA who will advise me by e-mail or phone of their arrival at Kalyves PO. The mails also included the ELTA tracking numbers. I suspect what will happen is that Manolis Th...
