Re: Water filter taps

Does anyone know if water filter taps are available in Crete and if so, where from? Would love to be able to stop buying water in plastic bottles! The one we have in England has a filter under the sink that we replace regularly. Yup. We have one. Any decent kitchen/bathroom showroom should stock th...

Re: PROPERTY REGISTRATION

Does anyone have the latest deadline for Lassithi? I know it's been extended a number of times already and probably will be again but it would be good to know the current one. Current official deadline is 18 March for residents, 18th June for non residents. There is no official definition of what r...

Re: New Scam

The worrying thing is that, presumably, they are making money at this.

Re: cremation in Greece

Some development on this issue according to [urlhttp://www.ekathimerini.com/238477/article/ekathimerini/news/minister-signs-decision-for-athens-cremation-facility]this ekathimerini article[/url]. I have posted this as a reply on this rather old thread rather than start a new one as Allen's original...

Interesting. The Gatwick flight I previously posted about also continues to fly each Saturday morning.

Re: PROPERTY REGISTRATION

In Lasithi, it's a foregone conclusion that there will be an extension of the deadlines. Lawyers, engineers, and the Registry offices are snowed under and will not be able to process the applications they already have, never mind those still to be done. I expect the copy shops are quite busy too.......

Re: Living in Greece without Registration Certificate, help/advice needed.

The Greek gov web site with advice on Brexit specifically states that a beige certificate will allow you to apply for residence after Brexit. Obviously a blue will also do. Link elsewhere on the forum.

Re: Property Register declaration

...Interesting. Slightly surprised they were able to legalise. I didn't think a building licence could be granted on a plot so close to a watercourse? Andrew You are correct that there are limits on proximity to watercourses but I am not sure on the details of the law. The houses themselves are ove...

Re: Property Register declaration

..... In the latest storms the river at the end of the gardens has diverted and taken away approximately half of each plot so the build area is no longer appropriate for the size of the new plots. It isn't a question of the river flooding into the gardens so that it will eventually abate and the pl...

T May now knows the majority of Parliament would vote against no deal. They would therefore have to accept her deal.

Which leaves the UK worse off than staying in the EU? What a shambles.

Re: The Will of the People

Forum members may find this useful: http://brexit.gov.gr/uk-citizens-in-greece/ It is quite recent and has some reassuring answers about residency. In particular, we will not need to apply for the new residence document till after Jan 1 2020, and either the present beige or blue certificates will be...

Re: Property Register declaration

...I suppose it will increase the land tax revenue ... :? To be fair, ENFIA is generated from the E9 records, so the Land Registry shouldn't change anything there. Still, they've made a few bob from the registration fees..... It seems clear that the authorities are just desperate to get any record ...
