Re: Ryanair flash sale

They are regulars with Ryanair Warwick. My friend went in under their registered account and did a check for one passenger, It came up as the cheap price, £48, as advertised. She then checked out for two passengers which came out with a much higher price. Wondering if it would be better to book as t...

Re: Ryanair flash sale

But watch the small print! My friends have just booked for 3rd April. The £48 flights finally worked out paying £227 each for one way. They were trying to book individually but when it cane to checkout it threw them out and they had no choice other than to proceed since the booking had been accepted...

Re: Hungry Children

When I was visiting my home in Crete I always made a point of adding extra items to the collection boxes in my local supermarkets, knowing I could well afford it. Certainly at that time there were a group of ladies in Rethymnon who were cooking and providing a daily hot meal for about fifty children...

Re: Flying Crete - UK

If you exercise your right to fly on a plane then you have the responsibility to not engage in activities that put at risk other passengers. If you ignore all the guidelines introduced to limit the spread of the virus then you knowingly put other passengers at risk. You have not fulfilled your resp...

Re: Flying Crete - UK

Just received a text reminder from Jet2 in addition to their email, so they at least are making things very clear for all travellers. They say : 'All passengers you are travelling with can go on the same form, including children. Select Add at the top of the page for each extra name before you hit c...

Re: Flying Crete - UK

I am coming over on Tuesday with Jet2 for a week since I must come over to close a bank account. They have sent an extra email warning travellers to Greece they must complete the PLF before travel otherwise they will not be allowed to go. This is in addition to the information available on line at t...

Re: Electric deposit

Just found your answer when checking up on my sale details for another member. The deposit was automatically refunded against my last but one payment to DEH. I assume the change of ownership was passed on by my Lawyer. I had a 23€ bill to pay after that, however, due to the two weeks delay in the ne...

Re: TransferWise from multiple source accounts

Yes I did try that Warwick without success. Having been in touch with the bank I have now been told I can only close the account in person, even my lawyer who has always had full POA can not do it for me. I am now booked to come over for a week at the end of September to deal with things and of cour...

Re: TransferWise from multiple source accounts

Warwick is right. I set up a Borderless Account with TransferWise when selling my house. The buyer made all payments directly into the account from his Bank of Greece account in Rethymnon and I was able to convert and transfer the proceeds via Transferwise, within hours of the payment being made, fo...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Frustrating times for all, my planned trip was cancelled in June - not all holiday, I still have unfinished business with my bank to close an account. Just found out, however, that I shall have to complete a tax return for 20/21at the end of the year in resect of the minimal interest accrued on less...

Re: where can I find?

Not long before I sold my property in June last year my UK Dyson died. I found a very reasonable Vac. in Praktika, Heraklion. It was a United VC7205C and looking at their website it is still available for just over 59€. Lightweight and moved very easily with additional tools, bagless and adjustable ...

Re: There must be a batter way?

I had a switch in the consumer panel to turn on the immersion heater. I only ever used it in the colder months, however, for twenty minutes or so. I used to set the cooker timer to remind me to turn it off! Never had to do anything with the solar installation other than have the anode changed in the...

Re: How fast can a bank transfer in Greece be made?

As posted in an earlier thread on this subject, I opened a TransferWise borderless account. This was a simple process, completed online. After my buyer paid his money in for the purchase of my house to the Bank of Greece for which he presented documentation, I was able to pass it to my UK bank accou...

Re: Fresh Cream

I never saw 'fresh' cream in any of the local Rethymnon supermarkets whilst I lived in the area. UHT pouring single cream and whipping cream was available in small cartons, however, in Lidl, AB, Halkidakis and Pavlakis.
