Re: Currency Index

Looking back over my last five transactions Carolina three have reached my Eurobank account on the same day. The other two the following day. It depends on the time you start the transfer. An early morning transfer will go the same day. After 12 noon on the day of request means the money will probab...

Re: bank account after brexit

My Sterling account with Eurobank had been made dormant, when I visited the bank in October, due to lack of use. It was opened again immediately and updated by the staff without production of any documents other than the pass book. I had however made regular use of my Euro account with them so presu...

Not knowing who your current contractors are I would suggest you speak to Andreas and Dimitrios at Piscines Ideales in Kalives. They are very helpful and I am sure will give you good advice.

Re: Carnival time

I realise that Fillipos, but the highlight is the parade, now one of the biggest in Greece. I may well be out for all of the celebrations for the last time this year myself!

Don't know about mosquitoes...

I am being inundated with Stink worms at present. Never seen so many! Since the rains they are coming out everywhere. At the time of writing there are eight on my balcony, I have to keep 'relocating' them with a fireside shovel as they manage to creep through the vents at the foot of my patio doors....

Re: Brisstol-Athens=Chania.

I generally allow at least two hours between any connecting flights, I assume you will have to collect your bags before checking in with Aegean at Athens. Don't forget if you take your Aegean ticket, Easyjet boarding card, and the card used for payment to the Aegean ticket desk before check in you c...

Re: New House Purchase

For furniture and garden items (though now at the end of season so selling off) take a look at http://www.praktiker.gr . They now have a fairly large range, slightly better quality than it used to be and often reasonable priced. Also good for electricals, builders materials and other DIY essentials....

Re: Draining the pool over winter or keep it going?

Likewise Warwick, only a bit further North, we always went to Seaton Sluice, fabulous long sandy beach and usually managed a swim from late April onwards. Spent a day there whilst on my mid summer break away from Crete in early August, with my great Niece and nephews. Despite being in swimwear in ca...

Re: Draining the pool over winter or keep it going?

Not being here full time I take the opposite view to Scooby. I have tried both options over the years. Initially I had my tiled pool drained and fitted a UK manufactured purpose made cover which is now kept folded and stored in my apothiki. Over the winter the pool filled with a foot or so of rain w...
