Re: Schengen /Brexit?

If you are on FB, I suggest you join British in Greece. There is a lot of useful info in the files and administrators who are very well informed. They have helped hundreds of people. I think your choices are limited if you want to stay between 90 and 183 days. Do you want to become residents and sta...

Re: LPG versus electric

I think I must be the only one who dislikes gas hobs apart from the fact you can use them in a power cut. I used to be able to control my cooking much better with an electric hob especially keeping things like sauces warm once you've finished cooking. You can turn electric off and the retained job h...

Re: Postal deliveries to Kokkino Horio

I have a package addressed to Kokkino Horio siting in Athens for over a month now, albeit with UPS not ELTA. My address clearly stated as being on Crete, every few days I receive half a dozen messages that they have tried to deliver it but failed then reset the tracker to Athens location as I have ...

Re: Coronavirus vaccine registration

Well I am absolutely delighted at your great fortune BST and I've no doubt that all the people who are worried and struggling, wherever they are, will be mightily heartened by your level of smugness and self congratulation. What a credit to and asset to humanity you are. Just stating the facts. Sor...

Re: Coronavirus vaccine registration

As regards hassle. We will register for the vaccination at the local pharmacy when the time comes at the same time as doing some food shopping or buying pills....no hassle! Relatives living in Wales will only buy food with click and collect as they feel so vulnerable in a high risk County. In their ...

Re: Coronavirus vaccine registration

...So glad to be in U.K without the hassle. Would I rather have the "hassle" of spending five minutes online registering so that I receive my vaccination appointment by SMS or live in a country with nearly 3 times the total death rate and nearly 8 times the current daily death rate, both ...

Re: Medical Grade face masks

A couple of months ago I bought FFP2 N95 masks online from a place in Athens plus Vic's first defence. The masks protect the wearer from aerosols as well as other people. I feel much happier protecting myself as well as others. I have heard that masks with valves are illegal in relation to Covid! Lo...

Re: SATELLITE INTERNET CONNECTION

We've had Tooway now Freesat from Bentley Walker for 8 years. Only a couple of problems over 8 years. Always good download for live streaming to 2 devices. Great technical backup via phone to UK. UK IP address. We were lucky to get an unlimited deal. No chance of ever getting landline but wouldn't w...

Re: Renewing UK passport from Greece

Yes, probably out in the badlands as you say Warwick. We recently had a DHL parcel coming that way via Geniki so just assumed the same would happen. Perhaps not? Bob By the way, you may have had bad experiences with Geniki but we find them most helpful and accommodating - except recently when they ...

Re: Renewing UK passport from Greece

The amount of time to expect to wait has gone up to 8 weeks (Passport Office estimate). That's about right for us. We applied on 21 December 2020 and just had notification today that DHL have taken delivery of the new passports. It will probably take them 1 or 2 weeks to get it here, transferred to...
