Re: Illegal grazing of Goats in olive trees.Advice please.

Been for several walks in the foothills recently with areas well outside the villages fenced off. I doubt if they had building permits. They were areas clearly owned and grazed by someone's sheep or goats.

Re: Mosquitoes

Have to agree with most of what you say Kilkis but I'd be lost without Greenlip Mussel tablets. They also work brilliantly on animals with arthritis, so no placebo effect as they haven't a clue they are taking it! I guess the companies who make the usual painkillers for arthritis really wouldn't wan...

Re: Buying a car in Crete

Have bought 2 cars from Supercars, Chania. We have found Manolis to be totally trustworthy , very helpful and he speaks perfect English. He will help you sort out the paperwork so you don't have to worry in advance! He also knows all the other dealers in Chania and does some second hand valuations f...

Re: POST-BREXIT continuing healthcare

I'm not sure the Albanians would expect healthcare for serious illnesses if they don't pay IKAs? I think they would pop back across the border.

Re: POST-BREXIT continuing healthcare

I doubt if there are many people living here who have the resources, potentially thousands of pounds that might be needed for major surgery or long term treatment for major illnesses. It's not just about forking out to see a doctor or consultant or routine x-rays. Wouldn't be bothered otherwise.

Yes I agree! I know people who voted Brexit and most say they would vote differently now they understand the truth and complexity of it all!

Re: POST-BREXIT continuing healthcare

It's also a bit vague about people who aren't old enough to claim the state pension even though they are retired and receive other pensions. So no S1 agreement etc....even though we are retired here......feeling a bit invisible!!

Exchange rates

Just booked a couple of Ryanair flights and exchange rates are down to £1 to 1.02 euros. The official BOE rate is 1.09 so to be expected! Beginning to seriously think the pound might drop below the euro soon as trade talks etc aren't going well! Living in the UK might become much cheaper but not as ...

Re: Wind

The east is windy mainly July and early August. It is THE place to go to windsurf because if this. As previously stated, it's down to the Meltemi which pretty much missed places to the west of Sitia ie most of Crete. The winds at places like Paleokastro and Kouromenos are mental much of the time in ...
