Land registry

I seem to remember that people in East Crete had to register or re-register their property with land registry in Athens a couple of years ago. There was talk of the Chania area being next in 2020? Does anyone in the Chania area and specifically Apokoronas area know if this has happened yet? Obviousl...

Re: Online delivery address

I think it depends on which bit of Crete you are in. ACS and DHL are brilliant in my opinion in Apokoronas. Never any problems with delivery to house with mobile phone number and nearest village name as the address. Taxidromiki (old UPS) are useless. If parcels from Amazon or eBay arrive in Chania a...

Re: Internet usage

Looks like the schools in the Chania area are already having problems communicating with students. How very sad for the students and frustrating for teachers.

Re: Requirements for part-time residents in Crete

If you have a good accountant, I would suggest you talk to him or her about tax implications as you may have LG pensions which have to be taxed in the UK. Many people wit OA pensions also appear to be taxed on them in the UK.

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

A stack of stats. to wade through posted in Hanianews this morning. A bit of a shock as far as Chania is concerned!! "Negative record in Greece in October, with the daily cases of the coronavirus pandemic exceeding the limit of 2,000 per day and 19 prefectures being at the level of increased ri...

Re: Lunchitme trembler....

East of Chania, built straight on solid old rock. Didn't feel a thing. If your house is built on sediments, you are more likely to feel it. Think of a jelly wobbling.

Re: Wanted - Pair of elbow crutches

I had a new hip in Chania hospital in 2016. Consultant was Babis Konstantoulakis . He was excellent and has a great reputation. Very pleased with everything about aftercare. Had my own day and night nurses.

In other reports, Herakleion has been downgraded to a level 2? Which doesn't make sense.

Re: Crete off UK quarantine list

Yes Wales has banned people going on foreign holidays. The wording is. "You may be disappointed...." I'd be bloody furious! I doubt if they'll get their money back.

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

"Use of a mask is mandatory in indoor workplaces and outdoor areas with synchronization at all alarm levels for the whole country. In short, in every corner of Greece, citizens should wear a mask outside where there is congestion." I think that's pretty straight forward! Everyone, everywhe...

Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

I don't think there is much change for most of us. Closing time 1am if you can stay awake. 6 to a table. Level 1. Readiness (Chania, Rethymno, Lassithi) Mask In all indoor workplaces In all outdoor areas with synchronization * more specific rules may be provided for specific areas, such as below Ass...

Re: Can't get an AMKA

I was aware that Syriza introduced a law that allowed uninsured people to get basic healthcare but I thought ND had repealed that? I know they were talking about repealing it but perhaps they backed off? What about somebody who is in Greece because they work here but have done so for less than 5 ye...
