Re: WIFI calling ...

Perhaps use Whatsapp? Free messaging and calls using Wifi (or 4G, which we sometimes have, but not reliably).

Re: BBC off line

PS I can connect fine using 4G on my phone rather than using our wifi - which tends to confirm my belief.

Re: BBC off line

Hi Jeff

Same for us from last night.

In fact it's all .co.uk sites.

I have emailed Hitek - I don't know if you use Bigblu as we do, but I expect it's their problem.

Re: Maximum passenger numbers in a private car

Thanks, Warwick. I share this feeling, but I don't want it to cost us multiples of 150 euros through ignorance.

An earlier link in this thread refers to adult children...

Re: Maximum passenger numbers in a private car

This is all very complicated! I just called our car hire company for clarification but did not get a satisfactory answer. We are hiring a Renault Megane for several weeks. At various times we will want to drive our adult children when they visit (one of them at a time, as it happens). That would mak...

Re: Mandatory use of masks from tomorrow, Saturday 18th July

Warwick's calculation above assumes that the selection of individuals for testing is random. I'm not sure that is the case (but I don't know). It could be that they are testing more (all?) of those arriving from Leicester home addresses, but a much lower percentage from Dorset (say). In which case s...

Re: What to expect arriving at Chania airport

All went pretty well between Gatwick and Chania for us yesterday. Gatwick was very quiet indeed and everyone was masked and being very sensible. QR code checked at Gatwick. Easyjet as usual were good, which made the experience as relaxed as it could be in the circumstances - flight time 3 hours 20 m...

Re: What to expect arriving at Chania airport

The 15:35 is the one. We'll be grinning too, behind our masks. Adding to the info that we have on what to expect, I am (relatively) reliably informed that if you have a 1 in your QR code you will get tested, whereas if you have a 2 you will not. Whether that's just for family groups I don't know. To...

Re: What to expect arriving at Chania airport

Exactly the same for us, Lollie!

In particular we are wondering if everyone has to pile into a bus, as usual, to be driven a few yards from the plane to the terminal.

Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

Re the Easyjet flights from Gatwick - sorry, Tim; yes, I did misread August as July. I guess people are waiting to see what happens before committing to August. And Easyjet will surely take the decision to cancel some of the flights to make things economical. My daughter's Easyjet flight - several d...

Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

Mystified by Tim's comment about July 19th... There is no Easyjet flight showing for Chania or Heraklion from Gatwick on July 19th, and there has not been for some time.

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

21.40 on Tuesday June 30th: EasyJet website entries for Luton to Heraklion suddenly changed to “No flights available” for tomorrow (July 1st) and up to and including July 15th. July 1st: This morning nothing showed on Luton's departure list but bizarrely the supposed arrival was still showing at Her...
