Taxinet number

I need to get my prescription renewed soon. Previously I got them from Vamos Health Centre which, I believe, is closed for prescriptions. I keep seeing advice about doing it online saying I need a taxinet number. Is this the same as what has previously been described as my "tax number" (AF...

Re: CoronaVirus now confirmed on Crete

BST I am not going to comment upon your personal choices. My post was about a resident in Apokoronas who had made it clear that he was intending to flaunt the "essential travel" rules and was asking other group members to support him in this (which a worrying number did). With so many food...

Driving Licence - practical test

I have put in everything I need for the change from UK driving licence to a Greek one, just wait and see now. I am 74 years old and I believe that I will have to take a practical test as well. Has anyone had one of these? If so, who does them, where, what is involved etc. Thanks.

Banking a cheque

My friend, here on Crete, has received a cheque from a U.S. bank in U.S. dollars. Her only bank account is in Austria. Any suggestions re how to get it paid into her Austrian account other than physically taking it there?

Car rental - Excess Damage Waiver

I will be renting a car from Sixt for one week. Does it make sense to pay for their Excess Damage Waiver? Any idea what it costs? Thanks.

Re: Funerals

Sorry, I don't have an answer, just a supplementary question. What happens to my body if I have no living relatives and I die on Crete?
