Re: VPN recommendation please

Might be worth having a look here I've been using their Mailwasher program for years and it's been 100% reliable and on the very rare occasions (2 times in about 12 years) help has been needed the customer service has been excellent. The VPN is a brand new service which, to me with no experience of ...

Re: Car rental - Excess Damage Waiver

I always took out an excess protection/waiver policy with one of the UK Excess Insurance companies. Unless the system has changed if you have an accident and excess comes into play you still have to pay the rental car company and reclaim the amount of excess from the UK insurer. Essentially all you ...

This reminds me of buying a new double front door in hardwood to replace a grotty pine one. I asked the local carpenter for a quote and along he came in mid August to measure. H...

Re: Hotels for Christmas.

Case Leone is very highly recommended. Mmmmmm! Absolutely, and we had a bonus; a free upgrade to "The Honeymoon Suite" with roof terrace overlooking the harbour. With one of us 70+ and the other close behind we discovered that, despite being quite fit and without mobility problems, ascend...

Re: Hotels for Christmas.

Are you looking for something in Xania? If so you're unlikely to find anywhere offering full board and, broadly speaking, there's a choice of boutique hotels of which there are many, especially around the harbour area. For the last five years we've stayed for 4 or 5 nights at: Casa del Porto in Sint...

Re: TENT ONLY BASIC CAMPING SITE

This is Greece so you're bound to need a licence and tents scattered over the land are going to be noticed by (or reported to) some authority sooner or later. It doesn't sound too comfortable for winter either.

Re: Day trip to Santorini

I met a German couple holidaying here a month ago. ................. In the day the cruise liners came in and it was like ‘playing sardines’ everywhere. - They could not wait to get back to Kriti. They did say though that is is a beautiful island. Just returned from 14 days on a gorgeous island ver...
