Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

I never cease to be amazed and impressed by the number of contributors to this board who have PhDs in hindsight. The question I've asked myself most frequently is, "How would the clever people posting here have dealt with the problems if they were the ones who actually had to make the decision...

Re: Spouses selling a house

It is possible to get a Power of Attorney when you are in the UK but it is more complicated so I would advise doing it here in Greece. Warwick Unless things have changed the spouse who is leaving first can grant P of A to the remaining partner. It's now 10 years since we had exactly that situation....

Re: Weather websites

Most of the time I just look out of the window especially in summer. I occasionally look at wunderground if I'm planning going some distance on a photo outing but more than anything that's to consider what I should be wearing. If I'm just going to local shops I don't much care what the weather does;...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Frying pans, baseball bats!!!!! Really? Crete has the highest ratio in Eurpoe of guns to the population, I've been offered so many guns, since I've lived here, single female, you must have a gun, just in case of a burglar! I have a dog, not the biggest, but a Cretan hound, he lives in the house, he...

... If you don't have room for a roundhouse swing try a cover drive. There's a fair bit of soft tissue as well as bone in the target area of that shot. Or a straight thrust to the solar plexus? Hardly any room needed at all. Warwick That will work with a rolled up newspaper (provided you don't have...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Frying pan next to the door in case a burglar calls! Bob. Quick trip to a sports shop and buy a baseball bat. With a frying pan you have to get fairly close to someone who may be quite agile. You may not land a good blow or they manage to grab your arm and wrench the pan away. Also, if you do land ...
