Re: Spare battery for Lidl drill

Amazon in Germany have it . Could you buy through them? Would they deliver to Greece? There were a couple of items I wanted and intended buying from the UK but they didn't supply one of the items to Greece. I looked on the German site and both could be delivered here: one of the items was cheaper t...

Terrible flood disaster in Athens

Have just seen this in the Guardian about flash floods with at least 14 dead reported and many injured.

Re: Ryanair departure gate

Usually you can arrange special assistance as part of the booking procedure with the airline. Most (maybe all) airline sites I've looked at during the last few years ask the question, "Do you require special assistance......?" at some stage of the booking system but I don't know (never ha...

Re: Ryanair departure gate

If that is the case then, when booking seats, inform them that airport assistance will be needed. I may be wrong but I'm fairly sure that this is an airport service rather than an airline service. My late in-laws needed assistance and were served very well. There's info on Ryanair site here but I'd ...

Comedic DVDs

After hearing me mutter about the unfunniness of modern comedians my sister bought me two DVDs she insisted would convert me. She has failed. Either my sense of humour has gone walkabout or it isn't synchronised with hers. Sis insists it must be the former and I don't disagree (anyone with a modicum...

Is it OK to leave it plugged in while still at home?

Evidently I can't smell like cat food, then. I can't recall being aware of more than about ½ dozen wasps all year.

Re: Lightning damage

PS The image in Jeff's post above is not what he originally posted. I'm not sure why the original disappeared. Because Photobucket now charges a subscription. It's a pain because...... Sign up with Flickr instead. There's an 'entry' level account that's free, uploading photos is easy and so is link...

Re: Cost of Living

....I have been trying to research the comparative Cost of Living particularly with the current Brexit blip/death spiral (choose one :? ) affecting Sterling. The exchange rate has been worse. In December 2008 £1.00 would get you less than €1.04 - the mid market rate was 1 : 1.039 GBP : Euro. When w...

Re: Golf clubs wanted

I assume you've researched the opportunities for golf here and discovered that there's only one course, near Hersonissos and isn't exactly cheap. The 9 hole course in Elounda is restricted to resort guests.

Re: Paying for Renovations

........... it was something like being able to draw out 30 % of money paid in from abroad in one go. Also I think this was increased when the possibility of drawing out €1,800 per month, rather than €840 every two weeks, was introduced a short time ago.............. Within two weeks (about two wee...
