Hi, managed to find a internet connection after moving to a wilderness. We hope to be on course for mid-March 2008, sold up and living on a farm with myriads of animals. We are going to go through the pet passport proceedure in January and final worming etc 24/48 before departure. Is there any speci...

We are no different, we just like to believe that we are not up to our elbows in corruption and everybody who is foreign is. It's like the Lord Denning view of the law where in 1982 he took the view that many black jurors were not suitable for jury service. Well that got a resounding round of applau...

No really Kilkis, your splitting hairs here. For over a year or more now the US sub-prime problem has been telegraphed. The markets were expecting it and the interbank lending rates were on the rise. Everyone knew the packages containing the sub-prime problems were out there and that so being liquid...

Not really Kilkis, the lack of lending in the interbank system is a direct result of the sub-prime lending situation created in the US. The Northern Rock model, which has been discussed exahusively here in UK, depends wholly (i.e. for 75% of funds) on the availability of interbank lending and funds ...

Hi Muttly, I have read some, perhaps many, of your posts and found a few amusing. But I am struggling a little in this case to see what your last post has to do with the subject of global warming. Yes, David Cameron is an Etonian, maybe that vague reference prompted this post. Who can tell? What is...

Say what you like but the Brit would have seemed the eternal optimist. Until today. I've never seen a run on a bank in the UK but today it happened. The Northern Rock which hails from Newcastle and is Brtains 5th biggest bank declared on Thursday evening that it had had to go to the Bank of Last Res...

I remember being at the local Grammar School to Eaton College and playing the Medallion team (16 years olds) at Rugby. They were inept and unstructured not to mention a complete bunch of panzies when it came to rough and tumble. Needless to say we beat them hollow by some massive score. After the ma...

Forthcoming Elections

Now I have no local experience and I am going on a report today by BBC Radio 4 one PM News. So please no flaming or otherwise. I just ask the questions and hope to get informed answers. The BBC basically reports that both the current government and the socialist parties are in trouble as a Greek ele...

I did not say I was starting it. But attention to minutia is one of basics ensuring a business does not fall flat on it's face or foul of the law which is why so many Brits fail abroad, I think they think that the foreignrs are not quite up to our wonderful sucesses.
