Re: Chimney sweep

Not sure where you are based. I seem to recall seeing a flyer on a telegraph pole, just past the school in Kalives heading inland for a chimney sweep service.
(If you are still interested, I realise this is an old enquiry.)

Re: Written greek to English translator wanted

Hi and congrats on your house!
I had documents translated, but over 20+ years ago, so no actual names to help you with. However, I’m sure if you ask your solicitor they could advise you of someone local to you. Failing that I would ask at your KEP office.

Re: Kalives- Tsivaras short cut road

Yes Bob, and also from the ethniki at Kalives up to Tsivaras. I went up today. The newly paved road takes one up to Tsivaras. If one takes a left off the new tarmac, just after the second bend up, it is still the same track that brings us out to the top of the hill, where you turn left to arrive at ...

Kalives- Tsivaras short cut road

FYI you might have read that this short cut has been tarmaced to help alleviate congestion at the laundry junction. I have just had to go out to see guests that locked themselves out... anyway, there was a car coming down as I passed on the main road and then having to to turn around as the digger i...

Re: Clear corrugated roofing

Not 100% sure Peebee, but where we buy our chicken food might. I know they have the steel type, might be worth asking. Go towards the highway, under the highway bridge and first right, round the bend and on left hand side.

Re: Removal Van - UK to Crete

I would NOT suggest Nomad. Their service from Crete to UK is exceptional, with a caring family. However from UK to Crete, is diabolical. Rude belligerent removal man, damaged belongings before they even left the house in UK. Did not provide packing material, as paid for. Did not provide cover for ma...

I second Louise’s Cretan Animal Protection post. We have used their services twice, once from here and once to here.

Also I think George does too. On the Armenoi road, just before the highway bridge. Left hand side. A large vertical road side sign saying Continental.

Re: How to dispose of books?

I read posts on this site often. Warwick is always a font of knowledge and most often with humour. This last one, I almost spat out my sip of tea! It's a shame there isn't a like button, so I just had to write and say thanks for the laugh

Re: A website listing British expat property and used cars for sale?

Hello Richard, My feedback would be what an excellent idea! And any help I can give you I would. My husband and I are desperately trying to sell our beautiful house on Crete. We had to relocate back to UK. I have tried while here to further 'hits' on our house via numerous websites, some of which ar...
