Yeah I have great respect for the OTE guys They are very helpful and have loads more technical knowledge than the sales staff who cold call me and tell me I can have fast cheap broadband from their system ...based on my phone number !...long story ...

Our phone line has been zapped by lightening twice ,the first time it fried the mother board in a computer and the phone socket ... we were on dial up internet then.... remember that? The second time it killed a phone and the phone socket was melted ...OTE replaced the phone sockets both times foc.....

Yeah .I have done both ways a few times, when traveling to London or Manchester ... I have been using Iraklion for years . I did'nt think it was so bad,they painted it up a bit two years ago and redid the front bit this year I think ... They are planing a new one further out from the city ,so I guess improving the old one is not on the top of the list .

Yes to the above we read e books using Kindle software on non kindle devises . Mac book pro, andriod tablet, and ipad .There are loads of free and cheap ebooks on manybooks .com and project Gutenberg ...

when I first lived here, I sometimes went and helped out an elderly neighbour, pruning grapes , harvesting olives , planting spuds or whatever he needed a hand with ..for me it was a steep learning curve and I learnt loads about how small scale farming works or doesn't work...but the 10 o'clock raki...

My UK green and pink paper european communities model , driving Licence licence only has two dates on it Valid from ** ** 1980 (the year I passed my car test) and valid until ** ** 2023 (my 70th birthday)...

Yes, if you buy local stuff the food here is great, high quality fresh fruit and veg , great cheese and lovely goats milk...If you eat meat,( I have gone back to my old vegetarian ways ) buy local lamb and goat it's very high quality and the animals have had a life grazing in the hills..

Yep I agree, I use ACS a fair bit, the Sitia branch don't deliver out here, so they ring me if a parcel arrives and they hold it until I am going in to town.. The regular postal service is pretty good here as well, Stephenula the post lady delivers to the house, if we are out she leaves letters unde...

We find post going to the UK is quicker than post coming from the UK . I've never worked out why ...But we have had letters come via Germany ! That seems a bit odd ...whereas things from here just go via Athens to the UK ...

Yes we have it here in the mountains out east ,the power keeps going off because the damp dust makes the isolators on powerlines spark , and that trips the trip ..It's a regular thing it happens now and again, it no great problem ...the worst bit is after the dust has moved on everyone (well nearly ...
