ACS run a good service .. I live in the far East and I bought a bike from someone in the far West of Crete a bit ago ...The seller took it to a local ACS office ...24 hours later I picked it up from my local ACS office ... I think it cost 10 or 13 Euros .. set against more than four hours drive each...

We have had stuff delivered from the UK ...and mostly it's worked fine ...but tracking is the key, and phoning the courier as soon as you get the change over tracking number ...

Olduffa...a road trip is a bit of adventure your are dead right .. .I did it a few times before we moved here in 2004 I drove here and back loaded with tools ,and materials and stuff in my volvo estate to fix up this ruin ,whenever I had gaps in my work in the UK ...freedom of movement is great .......

Yes, in a former life I worked for a company transporting mixed loads into mainland Europe from the UK before the UK was a member of the customs union..Let us hope we don't have to go back anywhere to the very complex paperwork we had to deal with then .....
