expats in Triopetra?

It looks like we will move house to south coast - would be lovely to connect with anyone living in the area of 74053 (Akoumia/Vrises, Rodakinokampos/Xilokampos, Kerames/Agalianos, Ag. Paraskevi/Triopetra). The area for sure is beautifully quiet, but I worry that it would be hard to settle in without...

Re: Greengibble removals

I had good experience communicating with them, but on a similar question (getting their boxes used for delivery of goods) it was a flopper.

word of mouth for rent in Apokoronas / Rethymno

HI everyone, I have had no success monitoring agents & Facebook groups since start of 2017. So my last hope is word of mouth - please leave a comment if you hear of anything or know of anyone who considers renting their property long-term to reliable expatriate couple. WANTED: stand-alone house ...

Yes! (must be the stress of relocation + my dyslexia, I often remember all numbers but change them, sorry!)

Re: Cost of an OTE line

Cheers Warwick, for now we get the standard ADSL (fingers crossed without telephone, it's a 10Euro difference per month) for 24mbps, thereafter we see how it goes.

Re: Cost of an OTE line

Warwick,
thanks for those links - I am aware of these offers, and I was not aware of satellite not being unlimited daytime. Good to know.

Re: truck driver Vamos/Vrysses 78003

It is delivery of our household items to our new house by post. (Postal office in Vrysses holds them and cannot deliver them to address.)
Boxes are more or less 40-60 cm on each side. Weight is more or less 20kg of each.

Re: Cost of an OTE line

Hi Hector, this is a question in case you still follow this post. Thank for writing out your experience, it has been helpful to read and see all comments that it gathered. We approached OTE in Chania last week, and were also told about 1-2 weeks time total for a village in East Chania. My question i...

expatriates in 73008

Hi everyone, we made the transition to our new home and are in the midst of settling down. As my partner is often on business travels, I am in charge of getting to know the local know-how. Would love to meet anyone who is nearby and wishes to make new friends (and teach them sympathetically about al...

truck driver Vamos/Vrysses 78003

Can anyone recommend a local guy with a bigger car? Can be a van or a truck driver who likes a small job for some additional pay and has a bit of English/German knowledge to communicate. We would need someone to drive 5km for collecting/delivering 9 x 20kg boxes. Taxis is not an option, post office ...

Re: used but good condition bicycle WANTED

PM me what price you want for it + repair tools (if you have) + if you can bring it to +/- Georgioupolis? I consider buying a 2nd one (we just got one delivered today) if you are happy with a symbolic pricing to give it away + travel distance/time cost covered if you are far from G. If not, then goo...

Re: Property Purchase

On opening a Greek bank account - it's next to impossible! what you can try though is Cyprus (Greek part). We did this when we were unsuccessful and they do it quickly. You need to have Greek tax number handy.

Re: new laws on tax (e1, e9, ENFIA) - advice?

Thanks Roussa, it's to do with me being a non-EU citizen even as a spouse to a Greek/EU one. I risk if I am absent from our old residency more than a few months, but I was assured that apparently no one could care less. Our loophole is that my husband is also overseas status, thus neither he nor I n...

Re: new laws on tax (e1, e9, ENFIA) - advice?

Thanks Warwick, English is my native language but I am bilingual sharing it with German. Love to hear your perspective if you care to share later! Thanks Andrew, I understand the distinction of e1 and e9, and for landlord they are obviously linked. I have checked tax laws (I understand it's 11% and/...
