Re: Anyone wanting/needing to travel by air to Greece/Crete now.

The timing and measures are so absurd. We are supposed to now be celebrating that we can see another hosehold in their garden for a bbq as long as we bring our own food and cutlery, stay 2metres apart, better not drink anything as we might have to go to the loo which we cant. Sounds like fun? Umless...

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Ok i didnt realise, but it s still reviewable i guess. I have flights on 1st july because we need to get to our property if only for a week before our tourists. Already moved it once and our first guests are due on the 11th. I suppose if our flights are cancelled then theirs probably will be and we ...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

It is easy for retired expats to say we dont want the tourists and probably quite a few greeks that have jobs that dont depend on tourism but Greece as a whole needs it and even if this year sees no tourists and it survives then what about next year.?This vaccine is not proven to immunize forever or...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Yes, i honestly would understand if my renters cancelled and they probably still will. Lives are obviousy more important and i for one will survive financially if that happens. But i am thinking of the bigger economic picture of greece And the UK and others if we dont help peoples livelihoods if thi...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Agreed. Its a balance and thats what our government is saying about easing restrictions now or soon, we risk another wave and another lockdown. A balance between peoples livelihoods and economy, and risk of further deaths. I do get it, but with Greece it heavily relies on tourism above other stuff, ...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Yes i know we are pretty bad as a country, i actually live in an area near Wales which is not densely populated and has had no new cases for a long while. But i do agree, we are the worst in Europe. I think telling the people a week before you lockdown that it will happen meant that everyone crammed...

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Just to add, its a real shame about the antibody tests because i reckon it must be so widespread here in the uk that weve probably all had it by now. Lol.

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

Speaking from 'plague island' Warwick i am rather saddened to hear we are not welcome. Greece needs tourism badly and although the UK government have handled this badly, we have a huge population and the numbers of cases are falling dramatically because we are in lockdown and have been for 5 weeks. ...

Re: Praise for the Greek government

Probably true Warwick, and sad and dangerous. Still cant get the headlines regarding big numbers found dead in care homes. Surely after one or two deaths hospitals would not refuse admissions. Something a bit wrong going on there. Maybe test kits in the homes could be organised as well as PPE.

Re: Praise for the Greek government

My mum and mum in law were both in care homes a while backand they were small ones and quite good. If they were ill they called the doctor who would recommend hospital if necessary. I do not get the headlines at the moment like 17 found dead in care home. If one looked serously iill then why werent ...
