Re: POST-BREXIT continuing healthcare

Unless I've read this wrong the healthcare bit of bl**dy Brexit seems to have less disagreements than other topics. It looks as though things might stay the same. Not get better you understand, just stay the same. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.gov.uk/...

Re: POST-BREXIT continuing healthcare

......I don't think it is possible to answer your question, Sinkingslowly. Warwick You are right of course Warwick, there is no answer at the moment. However, people on this forum are very good at finding snippets of info and I was hoping that there was something I had missed which would at least i...

Re: POST-BREXIT continuing healthcare

Like everyone else on here I hope that the existing reciprocal healthcare arrangements will continue unchanged after Brexit (actually I hope that Brexit doesn't happen at all but that's my own opinion). Has anyone picked up on any slipped details about who the possible future arrangements will apply...

Re: Property size

PS Can you explain this concept of "strict codes". This is from memory and things may be different now. If a 2 story house was advertised as 100sqm then that was the internal area defined by the German building codes as habitable space. The house could have a full multi room cellar but th...

Property size

I've been looking at several estate agents adverts for older properties and I have a question for you people with more experience. Is there a formula or agreed set of rules defining the square meterage of a property? For example if a house is advertised as 100 sq m would that include storage areas, ...

Re: Medical costs

..........what an incredibly irresponsible act calling the referendum in the first place was: asking people to decide on something .............. without anyone knowing what those consequences are. Couldn't agree more! At the time I got into a lot of trouble at my place of work by arguing with peop...

Re: Medical costs

............... One possible oucome is that you can continue to live in Greece provided you have private medical insurance but another possible outcome is that you can't stay at all. All options are on the table. Warwick Yes this was the basis of the question. I reach pension age next year and I ce...

Re: Medical costs

We had private health insurance for several years and the costs quoted above reflect what we were each paying. My partner is now 75 and that seems to be the cut off point with insurance companies and he can no longer find insurance. This is confusing me a little. From what I've been reading I thoug...

Medical costs

I've been reading a lot of posts about IKA, KEP and S1 forms and I am pretty well confused which appears to be the norm when dealing with any government department :D . However, if our Lords and Masters completely chock up Brexit and the UK leaves without any agreements I'm guessing that private ins...

Depends where you finally settle: there's a lot of Crete East of Xania. Thats one of the main things that I want clear up this summer. I have to admit that my last visit to Crete was many many years ago so I expect that many things have changed and I'm approaching this with an open mind. Thanks to ...

Re: One toe in the swamp

Why not invest the small amount of cash and buy Carol Palioudaki's book I was thinking of ordering this book and I will after reading the recommendations. My only doubt was that Amazon give the publication date as 2006 and I was unsure if some of the bureaucracy info would still be relevant. Does a...

One toe in the swamp

OK, so I'm thinking of retiring to Crete. I've been a good boy and done lots of searching on the interweb and read a lot of pages (some more helpful than others) and I am starting to have an idea of the amount of bureaucracy that I'm stumbling into. Tax number, residence permit, bank account, drivin...
