just to put a side issue onto this.... how do the holiday scooter/moped rental people go about keeping within the law. Not actually done it but its certain holidaymakers don't go through the rigmarole RIC describes. They certainly don't take a Greek motorbike test before using a hired vehicle so why...

no not that I am aware of and as I've been swapping such connections back and forth daily for around the last 5 years I think I'd have come across it if there was. the only test I can think of is to try another make of wireless dongle in the problem laptop just to see if that resolves it in which ca...

as written that should be working, what you need is another laptop also on wireless connect and to see if that gets the internet ( I know it has in the past but I want to know if it can now or if a setting has been changed since last there was a successful connection. Since you have as you say been ...

Requires authentication means you have to prove you are an OTEnet customer and so have the right to use their email server....which he isn't anymore, he's a Wind customer which is what he is logged in to the internet as.

I can confirm (having tested it 2 days ago) that a new Wind user who has mail sent to his old OTEnet email address does get it delivered but for how long I don't know. The agrro of changing ISP's email systems is what makes me say use Gmail or the like then the question doesn't even arise. If you li...

Not surprising you cannot send via otenet, you are no longer their customer and you are logged onto another ISP. Effectively trying to relay through Otenet or another ISP is what spammers do and it is correct that it is stopped. Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.tellas.gr Outgoing mail server (SMTP):...

75% do boot the cd before the HDD anyway so put it in and see. Worst case scenario is it boots from hdd and so then you do have to actually change the boot order but see what it is first by trying it. I know exactly how to change it no problem but why go to great reams of typing when it might be tha...

the question is in Allan's scenario why would you want to run a virtual machine? W7 is basically the smartened up version of Vista and just about all progs that run on Vista will run on W7. Most times Virtual machines are run on significantly differing operating systems and usually it is done to all...

No I don't (and haven't) advocate(d) clicking on the link without adequate knowledge and or investigation of it first either. But just pointing at something unknown and saying it is dangerous doesn't make it dangerous Point at a tap in a bathroom and pronounce that dangerous and remove it because 6 ...

In answer to your query ..One motherboard...has a boot sequence....when it hits one that boots it doesn't go on to boot a second as well .. Motherboard + drivers control the differing aspects and are loaded at boot up..... if you want to switch OS then the drivers for that OS will be needed......whi...

you just might be able to run one operating system as a virtual machine environment within the other operating system ...it's not usual and can't think of a logical reason in your scenario to do it.... I've not used virtual environments so can't say much more than the broad outline/concept is feasib...
