Re: Mountain Tea

Two locals say no, Use a small saucepan and boil it for 5 min. or until it is to personal taste.

That's generally how it's done here with malotira. Another factor in variation is adding dyktamnos and mazurana. Also honey if you want it sweet.

Re: Influx of mosquitoes or normal?

I find that this works well, but it's probably not meant to last the whole day https://www.vita4you.gr/en/korres-100-ml-19117

Re: Earthquake

There was an earthquake in the Chania region about 4 years ago with much stronger effects. I can't remember exactly when but much much stronger than this one. I don't know if the magnitude was bigger or simply that it was closer.

I think that it was in January 2006...time flies

Re: Anyone on here in Sougia?

If it survived last winter's rains without ending up into the sea it will probably be OK.

Re: Anyone on here in Sougia?

Your subject line is "Anyone on here in Sougia?" and i am pretty certain that no one on this forum lives in Sougia.
On the other hand you ask "Anyone here know the Sougia area?" and I am sure that many forum members do.

Is this the sort of answer you were looking for?

There is a key on your keyboard marked CapsLock. Try pressing it again.

Re: UK Food in Supermarkets

I don't understand what you are trying to do but to your question about "better supermarkets" I think that it's limited to AB, SYNKA, Halkiadakis (I guess they still exist) and Sklavenitis (which bought Marinopoulos). You can also add a growing number of Lidl supermarkets

Re: Green card car insurance.

When i took my car to "Europe" last year my insurance company printed me out a green card paper, on the spot and for free. So I did have something physical. I can't tell you if it was a legal requirement to have one. Then on the other hand of you go to UK post-Brexit entirely different thi...

Re: Brewery and glamping in crete

I expect it will only take 5 years or so before the Greek state has sorted out all the new rules.

But why would there be a need for new rules? There already are existing rules that apply to non-EU citizens

Re: Brewery and glamping in crete

I think, that businesses owned by foreigners are taxed quite high? What a strange concept! Do you really think that the state would be allowed to tax foreigners any different from Greeks? But yes, taxation is VERY high practically forcing you to evade taxes if you want to make a living and not give...
