Of course you can. Oddly enough you have not contributed anything to the debate. H'mmmm!!!!???

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

I do get it. I just do not see it as you do. How about YOU don't seem to get it?? It is either a Killer virus pandemic or it is not. It is ridiculous for Rethymnon to be operating to a totally less stringent control policy as Heraklion and Chania. Now if you want to say it is NOT a Pandemic killer v...

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

We need leadership. Thatcher had leadership qualities as of course did Churchill, Montgomery, Roosevelt, JFK, even Hitler though of course perverse and a nut-job. Brian Clough, Gaddafi, Castro and others. Its not whether you like a leader, because a good leader will deal equally with tough decisions...

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

Americans have a totally different view on life than most other countries, on the whole. They seriously value their constitutional rights - freedom of movement and free speech uppermost. It is an innate, inalienable right to have freedom of movement. It is an aspect of their culture. They will tell ...

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

I consider it arrogant for one to assume they are the font of all knowledge because they live, reside in Crete as compared to those who stay temporarily. Is it that people who live in Crete (immigrants) are an authority on Corona Virus/Covid 19? All you need to know is how virus operate and link tha...

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

So a generalisation, sweeping at that, is saying what?? It matters not if "we are all immigrants" many are migrants. The point is if there is a "killer virus pandemic" mitigating total shutdown makes no sense. In UK you can not mix with your next door neighbour - but you can lega...

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

I have to say that the fact there is 3 tiers makes this a farce. I don't think a "killer virus pandemic" fits into tiers. Does this mean the highest level of deadly threat - Heraklion - changes for people who may travel from Heraklion to work in Rethymnon? How does this threat suddenly bec...

Re: The earth shook...

I am more shocked with Black Lives Matter posted at the top of the Earthquake graphs. Is it that people who are not white are suffering more from Earthquakes.

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

I think what you say is admirable. It is almost a blue print for the American way. However, the general populace do not fit into square pegs for square holes, so to speak. The mindset of people is not one pathway. The fact is we can not all be Doctors or Ministers of state. We are the result of our ...

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

No subs no representation. Baby/bathwater. It is very common to find the mass of people do not "have your back" as they say. They do not have conviction of beliefs. Ask 99.9% of trade union members if they are happy their leader gets more pay than the Prime Minister they will say "abs...

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

I did challenge disproportionate pay for union leaders. It did not garner much interest. I was a Union National Executive Member and branch secretary for many years. It would be easier to climb Everest than get members to "bully' their leaders. Jesus never preached in Nazareth.

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

I gave up on Trade Union participation (outside legal cover etc) when the Union leaders rocketed themselves to the hundred thousand pay bracket. It is a scandal and a mystery to me they get away with it.

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

Kilkis: You have provided detailed real life how it works. I knew the principle if only from gut instinct on what is obvious. Thatcher knew trade unions were too powerful and almost controlled governments and this must change.

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

Kilkis: I do not regard any opinion as negative, via intent, when, as you have done, it is comprehensivley backed up with good sense and empirical detail. I am happy to be "better informed". When something seems not to make sense:i/e Crete (people) seems to drift along economically taking ...

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

FROM - MARITIME ECONOMICS AND LOGISTICS MAGAZINE - Mega-ships and mega-ports are the two faces of the same coin: the one ‘feeds’ and reinforces the other, and the one cannot exist without the other. I prepared this infographic in an effort to explain to a wider audience, in as simple a manner as pos...
