Garden Furniture Shop wanted

We are in Crete now and have spent the past few days driving round looking for a table and 6 chair set and never thought something so easy, would be so hard! We are new to the island and have only done the big stores around Chania town - all that have pretty nasty wood. We just want a table with 4 l...

Re: We have moved in!

Congratulations on moving in. We hope to complete this Friday and we are coming over in February to meet the furniture and move it all in. I am just starting to sort out the utility bills. It seems a bit daunting at the moment. I’d be grateful if you have any tips? Our solicitor took us to the bank...

We have moved in!

I can't remember who the new people were that were buying a house at the same time we were but just a little post to say we are officially in. We have just come back from our first 2 weeks at our new cottage in Xirosterni. We plan to visit monthly with a few weeks in the summer. Wi-fi is great so th...

Boat Tours?

I have just booked all our trips to our new cottage in Xirosterni for 2019 (so exciting) and would love to explore the coast line on a boat. Can anyone suggest any great boat tour companies? Maybe private hire might be fun? We would love to explore the south too, but I guess we drive over then get a...

Re: Flight time and taxi help!

Thanks so much...I will contact the taxi guy.

We have been doing Ryan air to Athens but then have been waiting 5 hours for the connecting flight. I was just wondering if we were missing a trick!

Purchasing a house (and paying for it!)

Hi - we are very close to completing on a holiday house in Crete and just wanted to ask some advice. The sellers have moved back to the UK so we are paying in sterling (exchange rates all been locked in etc). This is perfect for us. Our solicitor is in Greece. We have been told that we pay the balan...

Re: New House Purchase

Hi - congrats on the house purchase - how exciting! I am collecting keys early November for our first house in Greece too, so we are both newbies. This forum has quite a negative vibe on every thread I have been reading for the past 2 months but I am sure things will get happier! We are letting ours...

Removal Van - UK to Crete

Hi - can anyone suggest a removal company from the UK around November? I have tried the White Van Man and they seem to have closed?

It is only a few things: a couple of sofas and other bits. We want these pieces shipped rather than buy in Crete if we can.

Thanks!
