Re: PCR test

We had our tests to come out of quarantine, at the start of January, having returned from a brief trip to the UK done at the Cretan Medicare in Malia (We were allowed to cross prefectures in those days) the results were in English. They also seemed aware of PCR test to travel, since there was some c...

Coronavirus vaccine registration

Hi, My wife just received this from INCO: The Greek authorities have issued the form below for people to register without an AMKA number. I have checked with the local Epidemiologist, who says: "Send it to everyone without amka! This is not registering for the vaccine, so they will not receive ...

Re: UK Virgin Sim

In case it helps with correlation of the problem, our fist grandson was born during the fist lockdown so we did return to the UK earlier in the year. I'm wondering if it has any thing to do with "reasonable use" policy? I believe other networks have cut people off for roaming for an excess...

Re: UK Virgin Sim

Since we have been here we have both replaced our VM phones with ones bought from Κωτσόβολος. Both phones are dual SIM so we have a Greek Pay as you go SIM and VM SIM in one of the phones and just a VM SIM in the other. The costs of the phones we were comparable with the UK.

Re: UK Virgin Sim

Another useful place to ask maybe the virgin community forum https://community.virginmedia.com/.

I recently could not pick up a voicemail (you need a PIN when abroad, which you have to set up before you leave) and a Virgin employee on the forum sorted it out for me.

Re: UK Virgin Sim

I had a text messages from VM earlier in the year saying I needed to update my SIM as part of a network upgrade. It may relate to this https://www.virginmedia.com/shop/mobile/sim-help or this https://mobile.virginmedia.com/ecare/loadingPage?execution=e1s1 . I wonder if relates to any of the problems...

Re: New UK Foreign Travel Restrictions

From https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control/layovers-and-transiting ] Making a transit stop. Visiting includes making a ‘transit stop’ as part of your coach, ferry, train or plane journey, where passengers can get on or off. If you make a transit stop in a non-exempt country, territory or region, you’...

Such a useful item that when we left the UK we brought some with us not realising it was readily available here!

Re: Direct flights from the UK to Greece from 15th July confirmed.

I think you need to be careful when articles say "from" a date, however it looks like the previous ban until 23:59 on July 15th has been amended to 23:59 July the 14th. http://www.ypa.gr/news/h-aeroporikh-odhgia-notam-gia-thn-ektakth-apagoreysh-pthsewn-pros-kai-apo-serbia-ana8ewrhsh-gia-hn...

Despite press speculation it would appear Greece is on the travel corridor list.

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

That's the point, airlines are selling tickets for flights that they cannot fulfil. For a long time the 15th July date was media speculation now it is fact and it turns out that is 23:59, which is really the 16th.

I wonder what tradings standards would think.

Re: British hopes of summer holidays abroad quashed!

Note the first date for flights is not strictly 15th July. It is 23:59 on 15 July.

Of course the sites will still let you book the 15th!
