Re: Biometric permits

I know of a lot of people who only had EHIC before the deadline for health cover, anyone asked the question yet of the police? I couldn’t get a straight answer.

Re: New uk guidance Medical insurance needed for WA

I spoke to the very helpful Aire Centre yesterday, I suggest anyone with queries about residence after Brexit contact them. They can answer general enquiries or offer more specific help by formally raising queries with the relevant Greek departments on your behalf. https://www.airecentre.org/eurobri...

The officer said : “ from now medical insurance not EHIC”. “Appointments after 11th” Whether they accept that EHIC was sufficient for residency before December remains to be seen, although I have been told that police stations were still ac...

Re: New uk guidance Medical insurance needed for WA

Goodness how many people will be going home in March if what they want is described in this document issued by the police. (Hidden behind a very tiny link not in the main text of the residence permit section). This didn’t come to my attention until I received uk gov emails the day AFTER the transiti...

Re: New uk guidance Medical insurance needed for WA

To get the new biometric card does the healthcare insurance have to have been in place before 31st December to ensure coverage under the withdrawal agreement?

As I read it the policy had to be in place before the transition deadline.

Anyone know?

Re: Roll out of the vaccine in greece

I received a very prompt reply from The Vice Consul of Crete, see extract below: “I am aware there is a significant number of British nationals residents in Greece who do not qualify for an AMKA number, such as yourself. I have therefore already raised this question with the Greek authorities. This ...

Re: Roll out of the vaccine in greece

Many thanks for the useful replies and links, much appreciated. My local KEP confirmed we can’t get an AMKA number as we don’t yet have permanent residence documents and are not yet of pensionable age thus no S1. We are no longer on our UK doctors list or the NHS register so won’t be able to access ...

Re: Registering an S1 Form

The Withdrawal Agreement specifically deals with future Citizens rights of UK nationals living in the EU and EU nationals living in the UK. Continued use of the S1 form for UK citizens registered as resident in the EU prior to the end of the transition period has already been agreed. I agree Keltz,...

Re: If we decide to go for biometric residency permits...

As far as the S1 is concerned, when we phoned the Overseas Healthcare Services last week, we were told that even though we are already in receipt of state pensions, because that we are in the UK at the moment & will not be in Greece until next year & have not had an S1 before, we will have ...
