The butterfly effect. Yorgo, you should maybe read this as you seem caught up in the never ending cycle of chaos the UK government is creating. You might then realise that BJ via DC knows exactly what they are doing. https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2019/09/15/the-chaos-theory-behind-fascism/ ...

Re: Level 1 for Chania. Level 3 Herakleion New guidelines

A difference between the flue and Covid is that Covid has been directly linked to economic activity. Pre Covid you worked, say, 9 to 5 at the office, post Covid you work at home or in the office. The latter depending on a measurement of risk now defined by Level of risk each given a number, allowing...

Just to nit pick. London is not the City of London which has its own police force and laws. Just as the the Vatican City State is not Italy.

Re: WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR CRETE POST CONVID-19

This would be hilarious if not true, but it is. The main reason we have Brexit is to protect the City of London. “Anti-corruption campaigners have backed an Italian mafia expert who claimed the UK was a global centre for corruption. In an attack on how London helps criminals launder their money, Rob...

This was 1 year ago. I have no idea how implementation of biometric Id cards is progressing but the last sentence of the article may give a clue.

Re: Residency

Is that a new thing having 2,500 euro in Greek bank account? A few years ago I simply gave documents from UK pension provider to prove my income status.

Re: CAR INSURANCE

Sounds good Mike as we are currently the only Walking Football team on Crete. First played in 2018 as a winter sport but now all year round with more local interest. http://www.chaniapost.eu/2018/09/01/kalives-titans-football-club-over-50s-walking-football/ https://www.facebook.com/walkingfootballcr...

Re: Residency

You will be doing extremely well getting to a mainland Greek port from the UK in 3 days by car to catch overnight ferry to Crete. Do publish your route.

Re: Living in Greece info updated

It is my understanding that proof of legal residency is obtained by having the correct residence documents from the EU country you are now living in within the timescale defined by the Withdrawal Agreement. Hence reference in the updated guide to Greek authorities procedures. If it is subsequently f...

Re: Backup Storage

Sounds like a plan johnincrete. I find it safer to manually delete after the copy instead of using Move option in the rare case when the move is not successful and original file is no longer there. Keeps you in control. I also find Treesize a great disc space manager https://www.jam-software.com/tre...

Re: Backup Storage

In general I agree with Keltz' recommendation except for the last paragraph. I doubt very much that John's PC has an external SATA connection so he would need to buy a 3.5" SATA HDD enclosure that uses a USB interface. The interface inside the enclosure is SATA but electronics in the case conv...
