Re: Why Did Vote LEave Win?

Plaid Cymru have moved on. The Welsh parliament, along with Scotland and N.I. rejected the UK Withdrawl Agreement last week. England voted for it. UK General Elections are always decided by English votes with an 85% voting majority across the UK resulting in 533 English MPs and 117 MPs from Wales, ...

Oh and Keltz, you're a scream you are. Keep em coming. Fair enough, this is quite an amusing summary of a conversation between: David Bailey, professor of Business Economics at the Birmingham Business School Meredith Crowley, international trade economist at the University of Cambridge Piet Eeckhou...

I appreciate that insightful reply and thanks for the heads up. I have been reading the Beano, the Wheezer and Peanuts although a bit right wing for my taste. The papers you mention do have the same style of editorial control though so should be able to get as many laughs.

Please educate us and explain what getting an appointment with your doctor has to do with Brexit.

Re: Why Did Vote LEave Win?

I would support compulsory voting in the UK as is done in Australia and by using something like Blockchain technology would make it very easy to take part no matter which country you live in as long as you are eligible. Currently about 50 million people are registered to vote across the UK. Over 30%...

Re: Why Did Vote LEave Win?

Interesting... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-politics-51181641 Yes that is Wales now joining Scotland and N.I. in rejecting Brexit. No clearer confirmation needed that Brexit as an England only thing. Will be interesting to see the hard reality kicking in on February 1st when the Withdrawl Agre...

Re: Why Did Vote LEave Win?

The Tories won a majority at the general election on 43% of the vote with a 3 word manifesto "Get Brexit Done". Add in the Brexit party and UKIP brought the total X in the box to 48% in favour of Brexit. More people in N.I. and Scotland voted to Remain both in the referndum and at the gene...

Re: Why Did Vote LEave Win?

Because we live in a democracy and more people voted Leave!! Depends how you define "more people". In the general election pitched as a confirmation of Brexit without the need to hold another referendum, our antiquated First Past the Post voting system that allows parties to win on less t...

Re: Why Did Vote LEave Win?

And you think that leaving the EU will make Westminster rule less autocratic? Do you have any evidence? Warwick I do think irony can be a tricky thing to communicate on social media. I don't agree with what you have said above at all. Quite the opposite. 'Taking Back Control' is, as Bob said, for t...

Re: Withdrawal Agreement and Our Rights

Already France has made some kind of 'arrangement' with the UK, or at least a 'proposal' to the UK, independent of the EU. Am still hopeful. I guess there is a reason why nothing has been signed off by EU countries yet, not least now the WA has been agreed and was followed by a Tweet from Deborah M...
