Re: Weather websites

Re: Nothing has changed on here then

The Forum can get a bit like a British Legion public bar at times full of older folk who think they are at home and have nothing better to do than argue over the remote control to the TV.

Re: Britons urged to travel to Greece this summer

I don't think any credit card accounts have been accessed as a result of EasyJet data breach https://thehackernews.com/2020/05/easyjet-data-breach-hacking.html?m=1 and no passport details taken. It does seem to be that such breaches are reported well after when they occur and I presume this is to pr...

Further, it looks like covid19 cannot be transmitted through food http://www.chaniapost.eu/2020/05/14/coronaviruses-not-transmissible-to-people-through-foods-or-food-packaging-greeces-food-authority-chief-says/ or food packaging which to me contradicts the current recommendations to wipe down surfac...

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

My understanding is that face masks are only needed in shops or other public places where the 2 meter distance rule cannot easily be observed. Gloves are only needed in shops.

Yes I probably went a bit far in non-medical data being used when recording movement of the covid19 virus although the potential would be there.

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

I think I mentioned earlier, perhaps tongue in cheek, that the NHS could give free mobile phones as a preventative measure in the push for contact tracing to help contain the virus. Thing is, discussion in the media on keeping track of the occurrence of Covid19 is limited and not forward looking eno...

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

The security risks and complexity of Bluetooth are well documented and not addressed by Google/Apple proposal sufficiently as a potentially life saving tool some may depend on in the future. https://www.wired.com/story/bluetooth-complex-security-risk/ From the following document.. "in the comin...

By definition an API is part of the operating system, it is built in. Yes but the App is not and that is what is being proposed, to make funtions of the 'virus' App part of the OS so not an App at all but code within the operating system that may have limited access through an API. The ability of O...

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

Maybe the NHS will issue free smartphones as a preventative option. Especially as Apple and Google are looking to changing their software and include this functionality as part of the basic IOS and Android operating system. It may be an API interface today but looks like they see an opportunity to b...

Re: Coronavirus, what happens next

It looks like the EU want to have a single app available to all countries in the EU. Although there are issues mentioned below on how this could possibly affect freedom of movement there is also a larger issue of privacy infringement. Personally I prefer the idea of a virus 'passport' for people mov...
