Thank you

Re: Pension bombshell...

I have never received a letter informing me of my pension age rise.

However, it is reassuring to know that when I am entitled to my pension in just over two years, it will be annually uprated.

Brass/iron beds

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to find solid brass/iron bedsteads, preferably around the Chania area.

I shall attach an image of a bed in a Greek folk museum for reference:

Re: Withdrawal Agreement & our Rights - What's covered?

Thank you Warwick.

I do wish to apply for permanent residency after the requisite five years, so want to ensure I comply with all the rules!

I expect with a biometric card, there will be a database keeping a record of length of stay?

Re: Withdrawal Agreement & our Rights - What's covered?

Thank you for all the information posted here; it really is very helpful.

Am I right in thinking that the 183 day rule will commence in 2021, or should I stay for 183 days this year to keep my beige residency card?

Re: House Insurance between chania and almyrida

Hi. I have a little house in Chania in the process of being renovated, and ended up insuring it through The National Farmer's Union in the UK! The Greek insurers I was put in touch with would only insure the house once the renovations were complete.

Re: History of Chania

Not sure if anyone has seen this?
Or, maybe, there isn't an historical interest group?
Thanks

Thank you Warwick. It is a LHD car so, hopefully, I'll soon get used to it!

Re: Driving

Try going out very early in the morning when there is not much around. Remember to keep the white line on the drivers side (unless you are in a RHD car :-)). Go anti-clockwise at the roundabouts, should you come across one. Treat left hand turns as you would right hand turns in the UK and vice vers...

Driving

Hi. I have never driven outside of the UK and am wondering if anyone knows of a driving instructor who could help me get to grips with driving on Crete. I am in Chania. Thank you.
