Re: Any rebates available?

... begin making our 'insignificant' contribution to Greek government coffers. Maybe I'll go to see Nico, at the hardware store and cancel my order for aircon. I can manage another year without it. The car couldl go without its annual full service. It'll be fine. The stone wall in the garden? I'll ...

Re: Any rebates available?

Thank you, ros21m, for saying what many of us must be thinking. I know so many people who, if they are unable to open their businesses this summer, will struggle to pay their rents in the winter and will probably lose their livelihoods and maybe even their homes. I cannot understand the attitude of ...

I'm not sure what there is to respond to, Mouche?

Then don't? If you can, that is!

Mouche,

Are you related to Saddler and Kamisiana? Your styles are very similar. A lot of criticism but no real content.

Yes Warwick, the Ferryman Taverna was on the right at the bottom of the hill as you dropped down in to the village of Elounda. I must look on Google Earth to see if it is still there. Maybe someone on here from that area can tell us? The Ferryman Taverna is still here in Elounda, but it's now an ex...

Re: The Will of the People

Yes, I thought I heard someone saying there were two Hunts left after everyone else had been eliminated but I may have misheard. Nice to see the EU gravy train rumbling along https://www.rte.ie/news/europe/2019/0621/1056634-eu-jobs-negotiations/ there are certainly more than a couple Hunts amongst ...

This article is more than 2 years old but still gives an idea as to what might be to come.

Re: Life Certificate

KEP in Agios Nikolaos signed and stamped my "proof of life" in December. I returned it to the pension provider with a note to explain who KEP are. No problems with that for the last two years. Give them a try, nothing to lose,

No-one has a clue as to what will happen after March 29th, not even the British government.

Re: The Will of the People

After the hoops we had to jump through to open and maintain a Greek bank account and the problems with opening an interest-bearing UK one when you live here, I imagine opening a German account to look after my few euro would be well nigh impossible. So I will have to carry on living in my little Cre...

Re: Road Tax

We are very lucky here in Elounda to have Tech Hub, a small technology shop where we can pay bills such as road tax. We no longer have to queue for hours at the bank or post office - at least until everyone finds out that this service is available! I paid ours from this very laptop. Why is it neces...
