How do you actually *make* barley bread?

If you're looking for an answer to this on Google, forget it. Figured it's best to go direct to the source. I grew quite accustomed to having my daily dakos in crete and since I can't buy the bread anymore I was wondering how one might actually go about baking it from scratch. It should be no hassle...

We recently travelled from Heraklion to Piraeus then from Patras to Ancona using Anek Superfast ferries paying extra for a pet cabin it was exactly the same as a normal cabin except for the flooring. We done the same, no hassles whatsoever. They even had a designated "poop deck" for the d...

Fur shops

I remember whilst on the road to Heraklion last summer seeing all these billboards and signs for fur shops and thinking, "why the hell would anyone want to buy fur in this place?"

...I guess I can consider that question answered.

That's good news about the deadline being extended, though here being here the lower echelons might not ever find out about it. Incidentally, do we have to pay for the tax for the entire year or can we pay up for smaller periods? Just wondering because there's no point in paying tax for a car for a ...

right now in crete... my dog is evidently the only dog that isn't yowling in anguish having been chained to the same tree for months on end despite piercing galeforce winds, torrential rain, thunderstorms and floods.

Ah yes, I remember those things. They're a bastard to get rid of. If you do get infected you'll want to disable the system restore option and run a scan. For severe infections I reccommend Hijack This http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html Rrun it and then post her...

We're much farther east, was pretty intense, it seemed pretty widespread as it was all around us. Certainly wouldn't want to be flying into Heraklion that night.

Was some light show last night huh?

Incidentally is this insane southerly desert wind normal? And is that really Colonel Gadaffi's sand I have outside my front door?

(There's one made by a Canadian company, whose name I forget.)

That'd be Corel. A wretched company who makes awful products like Corel Draw a program which can't even manage to be compatible with itself.

Someone said to me that it's already come in. Can't say that I've noticed. They're still puffing away like mad here and I've never had anyone in a bar or restaurant say anything to me when I light up either. When it came in back home we all complied quietly like frightened sheep. But folk down here ...

I kissed the rain and I liked it

Perhaps it's time to open up an agony aunt section on this forum but anyway here goes... Last night it rained. And I was happy. I actually went out and stood in it for a while. It didn't rain for long, but it did rain for a few minutes and whilst it did I enjoyed it. Yes it's been up to 34 d...

just come in from the balcony with a refreshing glass of ouzo minatavros. gf had already picked up a couple of those coil things and indeed they do seem to be doing the trick. Picked up some plugin things too but I'm not too keen on leaving them plugged in for long periods, firstly because they smel...

Mosquitoes - They're All Around us mahn! Game over mahn!

Life is never 100% perfect. Life in Crete would be pretty close though, if I could just get rid of these bastard mosquitoes. (/cue nemesis to come barge in with a "oh you've damned the mosquitoes now have you!" flamewar) Seriously, I've seen some crazy things; armour-plated beetles, giant ...
