Re: Future (and current) British expats in Crete

For those that have an interest, today's Future Partnership Paper deals with proposals regarding future customs arrangements so not that relevant to living in Crete, unless you are operating an import/export business between the UK and the EU. Warwick But like the rest of the government's 'policy' ...

Re: Future (and current) British expats in Crete

It would be perfectly possible for the UK to propose that, while they wish to implement their own conditions on exactly how many and who can relocate to the UK from the EU, those that are granted permission will be dealt with under the EU rules regarding healthcare, pensions and rights of residence...

Re: Wind

If you have somewhere 'in mind' for building Raw, ask a friend who is 'local' if it is a windy place! I know some Germans who did not listen to local advice. Everyone told them not to build on a piece of land that had an amazing view, but it was where the old threshing circle for the village had be...

Re: E1 tax submission - prove you're married??

Re: Places to visit

On your way (from or back to Elounda) make a detour to visit Imbros and have a quick look at the gorge from the road. There is also a small war museum in Askyfou but not sure that you'd have the time. Well that would be over a 1 hour detour off the route to/ from Elounda, and that's without a stop ...

Re: E1 tax submission - prove you're married??

Have you tried asking at a local KEP office. They might not know the answer but if it is a good office, and most of them are, they might be able to find out what the regulation really is. Warwick Worth a shot, though the whole saga at some point involved getting our signatures verified and stamped ...

Re: postal service

In villages in Crete you would probably have got it if you had not put any post box number on the address, Kathleen. I haven't tried it but I reckon there is a good chance that if you put your name, Greece and your post code you would probably get it. It might even work if you put your name followe...
