The offer still stands for Almyrida Beach Hotel Jane. Bob.

Re: How to dispose of books?

We have four or five large 'Jumbo' bags full of books, written in English. The majority are fiction -classics, crime and travel but a few are big 'coffee table' hardbacks. Ideas please for disposal, second-hand shop in Hania has too many. Thanks. The Sarah's Hope library at Almyrida Beach Hotel is ...

Re: SAMSUNG TV LIP SYNCH

This article gives a method of adjusting speech lead/lag in Kodi. Not sure if it will work with your set up. I think it is a potential problem with all video streaming services rather than with the TV. I get it occasionally on Expat Vision. Often stopping and restarting the stream cures it. Sometim...

SAMSUNG TV LIP SYNCH

Having lip-synch problems using Modbro with a 'Kodi box' for live TV and according to what I have been reading, it's a problem more to do with our Samsung TV rather than a modbro issue.

Can anyone confirm that; suggest a remedy; advise on a TV set that doesn't have the problem?

Thanks. Bob.

Re: Plastic Bag Charges

All plastic products, bags, bottles etc are a big environmental problem and a move to paper where possible would be preferable. No of course I am not advocating paper bottles (before someone jumps in with that one!). That may be true at the disposal end but paper bags, for example are rather less e...

Re: Plastic Bag Charges

When you have finished with your plastic bag, what do you recommend doing with it? It doesn't degrade, you wouldn't want to burn it, you can't eat it, so just what DO you do with it? Is it any less degradable than the plastic bin liners I now have to buy? Also, I read somewhere a few months ago tha...

Re: House insurance

I renewed my car insurance with ATE at the beginning of May, when I was just short of my 75th birthday. The renewal notice came with a booklet from ERGO confirming completion of the takeover. The car was exactly one year old at renewal and the cover remains comprehensive, as last year with the prem...

Re: Plastic Bag Charges

What's needed is to stop people discarding the bags (and other litter) wherever they please. When you have finished with your plastic bag, what do you recommend doing with it? It doesn't degrade, you wouldn't want to burn it, you can't eat it, so just what DO you do with it? Put it in the recycling...

Re: House insurance

Interesting. We have used Stephanos and ATE for a long time now, and I can highly recommend him as a person. However, we have just changed our car for a new one and discovered that because I am over 70, ATE will no longer insure me for fully comprehensive insurance! Had I not changed the car, that w...

Re: Plastic Bag Charges

It will be interesting to see which kind of plastic bags attract the charges Carol. My guess is that the transparent flimsy ones will continue to be free, but maybe the 'carrier bag' sort will attract the charge. Good news, nevertheless! Bob.
