That's how I would interpret the previous posts. Why not just ask your bank? Bob.

Re: Paying Electric bills

Probably the same as paying the OTE bill - done through the bank. Got mine set up to do it on line through my bank account. Saves paper. Bob.

Re: EHIC card

Just got this from the NHSBSA site: Q I live overseas and have a valid EHIC issued from the UK. Can I use my card for treatment if I visit the UK? A : If you require medical treatment whilst visiting the UK you are entitled to this free of charge, just like someone who is normally resident in the UK...

Re: EHIC card

There are effectively two types of EHIC, although you cannot distinguish them by looking at the card: 1 If you are resident in the UK you apply to the NHS for an EHIC. That card can be used anywhere in the EU but NOT in the UK. You don't need to use it in the UK because you are registered with the ...

Re: EHIC card

For what it's worth, I think that the EHIC is issued by your country of origin within the EU. Initially we had one issued by Greece, valid for one year, but after that the cards have come from the UK. My understanding is that it is not for us to use in the UK, just elsewhere in Europe. Chimes in wit...

Re: Hello

I also dont think they leave much around for vermin and if they did they would probably catch the vermin. OK. See you sometime up at the bins in Kokino Horio where the apron of concrete is littered with bags of household rubbish which have been opened by the cats and then left. Plenty of cats aroun...

Re: Things aren't always what they seem

Bizarre that the head of the IAPR would not know this. Clearly there is already a link, as you say. Andrew As bizarre as the situation a few years ago when IKA discovered it was paying a pension for someone who had died about 8 years before and IKA had paid for his funeral!!! Left-hand, right-hand?...

Re: Cyprus or Crete ?

Dear Cyprusman Warwick has given you some good advice which we would echo. He said ' Please don't misunderstand me. I am not trying to put you off coming to Crete. It is truly a magical place and I have no wish to live anywhere else but it is important to come with your eyes open. It may sound commo...

Re: Life with a pacemaker

Ah. Not thinking clearly. Of course if it is super conducting it will be self sustaining and the only way to stop it would be to raise the temperature above the superconducting temperature. I think there are some pacemakers that are certified for exposure to MRI scanners but I don't know the detail...

Re: DEYAAN account number

I think that previous payments are only saved if you tell it to do so, Bob. Also on my water bill the payment code changes with every bill, unlike ΔΕΗ and COSMOTE that stay the same so a previous number may not help. Warwick With things like that (utility bills on-line) I probably did tell the bank...

Slightly off topic but related: I pay the phone bill on-line through Alpha Bank and last time, for the first time I was charged €0.30 for the privilege! Bob.

Re: DEYAAN account number

Thanks, Warwick. That was the number I thought it was but NBG keep insisting its wrong! Have tried every number that looks likely on the bill with same results. I asked Greek friends who told me its not possible to pay online and to go to the post office but I know I've done it before and it quite ...

Re: Storm Clouds.

'Take back control' is almost as much a mantra as 'I have been perfectly clear'. Take back control of our laws: This is from the BBC News June 2016, just before the Referendum. 'According to the House of Commons Library, which itself concedes that there is no completely accurate way to make the calc...

Communictions ability

This from the Guardian: More than a quarter of children starting primary school are unable to communicate in full sentences as concerns grow about the amount of time they are spending in front of screens, the education secretary will say in his first major speech on social mobility. For a moment the...
