Zumba classes

I don't know about in the Apokoronus area but there is a studio on the Souda Road where they offer classes. If you are driving from Souda towards Hania, it's on the left-hand side just after the traffic lights for the road to the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute and the AB Supermarket.

Drachma currency

Whilst queuing at the Chania hospital O/P reception desk this morning, I noticed that the computer 'screen-saver' behind the tameo was displaying six different denomination Drachma currency notes. They may have been the original design but somehow looked different in that the six portraits did not s...

Blood donor poll

First, to reassure people who might need blood. My husband had a hip replacement here in the public hospital at Mournies in October. We were asked to try to provide four units of blood, and as we are both English and have only lived here for ten years, we couldn't donate it ourselves. It was stresse...

Yes, you can renew a 'UK' driving licence online providing all the details that the DVLA have re your current licence can be recognised by their database, and one of the problems in this respect is the postcode. When I applied for my first 'over 70' licence, and when my wife later needed to update f...

Is this the Kalyves on the Apokoronos, or is there another Kalyves near Kolymbari?
Are you all discussing what I call call 'Krasi' and pay around three euros for one and a half litres in my local shop?
Just trying to follow the thread, that's all!

Thankyou

Yes, I'm sure you're right. I looked on the web and saw some pics that look just like them. I bought them in the 'AB' supermarket and they were selling like hot cakes so I thought I'd give them a try. Thanks for your help.

How to cook omathies

I bought what I think are omathies (they look like burgers parceled up in sausage skin) at the butchers. What is the best way to cook them...boil, grill, oven..and if not omathies what are they called?

British Food Store in Maleme

It was open this week. I phoned on Monday and the phone was answered, then a friend collected mincemeat for me on Tuesday. Opening hours are still 10am to 3pm as far as I know.

Recycled glass

Can anyone tell me where the depot is for recycled glass that is collected in the yellow 'wheelie' bins situated in and around Hania? We've been using them for quite a while, but the ones we can access easily are located in quite hazardous places on the roadside. If the bottles and jars end up at th...
