Re: Half Litre Pyrex Measuring Jug

The general hardware store in Kalives main street on the left heading out of town westwards, near the post office, unearthed one for a friend a while ago. Not for nothing is it known as "Arkwrights".

Re: Medicinal Herbs

Be aware that natural medicines are sometimes harmful, especially if combined with prescribed drugs. Turmeric is especially contraindicated if you are taking a blood thinning medication such as rivaroxaban or similar. Unfortunately, declining a blood thinner increases the chance of stroke and thromb...

It happens because it has always happed. We just think that it hasn't always happened because the media have short memories and underqualified "science" correspondents, and the masses believe them.

Nomad can be trusted with anything that your wife is concerned about. They are expert packers and give a personal service. Certainly better than companies we have used in the UK. Believe me.
I have no connection other than as a happy customer.

Try InterAmerican, Chania. Leandros Simeonides is our contact. They do earthquake cover, speak good English, and will give you a copy of the cover details in English.
They are near the Cross Market.

Re: Hello

I have had limited experience of the Greek healthcare system, but I do know that the much missed Dr Elisabeth in Vamos diagnosed my husband's skin cancer in minutes, then our GP in the UK failed to take it seriously for three months. Yes, it mght have been fatal. On the other hand, Heraklion's radit...

Re: Upturned bottles on fence posts.....

I agree Caroline.
I have been using this method for some years now, except that it is herbicide that the warning is about.
That should be 'was'. Having read about Roundup, I cut down the smilax regularly. I know it won't be as efficient though.

Thank you both.
Sorry, no Sky subscription. Milligans is family slang for millions, so you are correct, in a way, Kilkis.

We will retune, and perhaps replace the SCART lead, whick looks bent.

Thank you for replying, all.

Satellite channels -again

Just returned to Crete after four months, and we seem to have lost most of our channels again. Has one of the satellites been sabotaged, or do we need the experts again? We are able to get around 6 channels on Eutelsat 28A. We had milligans in June.

Re: YET ANOTHER PROPERTY TAX

" How much more do they think people can take?"

Speaking for myself, not a lot. It is the straw that has broken this camel's back.

Those who have no choice will pay, eventually. I have had it up to here (indicating chin) with ever more taxation in Greece.
