Re: IKA INFO FOR THE BUILDERS

According to email form our lawyer dated March 3rd 2014 we were advised that we would have to pay ENFIA, the requested amount, as from July 1. 2014. Untill then we were on building electricity and no ENFIA due, nor paid by us. We have paid ENFIA in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in full. According to our neigh...

Re: IKA INFO FOR THE BUILDERS

...I did NOT have to pay ENFIA untill the house was fully legalized with all IKA paid and domesticc electricity installed... Do you know when in that process the E9 was submitted? No, I don't. The building of the house was a rather long prosess with building permit issued 2007 and the house only co...

Re: IKA INFO FOR THE BUILDERS

........Building electricity is more expensive than domesti electricity but on the other hand you don't have to pay ENFIA. Wrong. As Warwick states, they charge ENFIA based on your E9. You also get stuffed for council taxes you didn't pay while on builders' supply. It may all seem pretty amateur, b...

Re: IKA INFO FOR THE BUILDERS

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think IKA is supposed be paid for certain types of work even if you Do-It-Yourself. That certainly was the case a few years ago. It applied to things involving new construction work, plumbing, electrics etc., with IKA payable at the rate applicable to the appropriate t...

Re: Bicycle Shop in Kalyves

We bought our bicycles in Norway at half price and brought them with us on the plane at a cost of 30 euro so all in all we saved a lot of money NOT buying in Crete. The guy in Kalyves is quite nice, helpful and reasonable when it comes to service etc but know several people who would not go back to ...

Re: Heating oil price

I forgot to include exchangerate usd/euro (or other local currencies). Has cost of refining, or price for refining, and transportation changed since last year (two weeks ago)? Yes it has. What are the main components of the price of heating oil? Heating oil price components. An illustration of a tan...

So cost of refining, cost of transportation (sea, land, oilpipe) and sypply/demand has no influence whatsoever on the price to the consumer? Not so in most other places but maybe so in Greece/Crete, I don't know.

Re: Strike

I am still wondering how all the greek workers can afford all these strikes, especially the sailors, and have they achieved anything, anything at all these last 7-8 years?

Re: Greece strikes, other potential disruptions & Bank Holidays

In the EU the poverty level is regarded as being 60 % of median income so for Norway that would be €17,168, i.e. about 2.4 x the figure for Greece not 6 x. Your link refers to OECD, not the EU, so maybe you should make up your mind what definition of povertylevel you like to use as basis for all yo...

Re: Greece strikes, other potential disruptions & Bank Holidays

Your link shows median income per household, not per capita as you claim? By per capita do you mean per person with income or all citizens of a country from 0 to 100 years of age regardless of income or not? The average income for norwegians with an income is abpout 40.000 norwegian kroner per month...

Re: Greece strikes, other potential disruptions & Bank Holidays

Sorry to say, but you got the figures wrong as far as income in Norway is concerned. In 2015 the median income per household AFTER tax was 491.000 norwegian kroner and leave it to you to sort out what this means and in what currency as this seems to fluctuate. https://www.ssb.no/inntekt-og-forbruk/s...

Re: Greece strikes, other potential disruptions & Bank Holidays

The stone must be getting pretty anaemic by now? I understood that the poverty line in Greece stood at €7,178. If they drop the tax free threshold to €5,681 then they are taxing people who are officially living in poverty. Warwick The tax free threshold i Norway is less than 5.000 euro and the pove...
